if i have an "ectoplasmer" on my side of the field and special summon a "blue eyes white dragon" per a "hieretic" monster's effect : current attk/def 0/0, will e-plasmer's effect inflict 1500 points of damage or no damage? having 2 parts to its effect- (pt 1: tributing the monster and pt 2: inflicting effect damage)-as these 2effects resolve in sequence as worded on "ectoplasmer", would the damage be based on the bewd's original attk in the graveyard or while it is face-up on the field to be tributed with its (e-plasmer's) effect?

If you've read Ectoplasmer, it inflicts damage equal to half the original ATK of the Tributed monster, so if you Tributed Blue-Eyes White Dragon for Ectoplasmer, you can inflict 1500 damage. ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 18:15, March 26, 2013 (UTC)
The key word is original ATK (half of it) so the original ATK of BEWD is 3000 and it doesn't matter that because of a Hieratic Monster it has 0 ATK on the field, his original ATK is still 3000.Jaggo 80 (talkcontribs) 18:54, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

So, ectoplasmer only cares what the printed original attk is.. i like that. thank you for clarification jaggo80.

Again, only Original Printed on that card. --iFredCat 22:15, March 26, 2013 (UTC)
Read what Original ATK, Original ATK is the ATK value printed on a card, that means without any kind of additional effect from another card. So even if the ATK of Blue-Eyes goes to 6000 or 1000 from a card effect, it's Original ATK is always 3000. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 23:49, March 26, 2013 (UTC)
Megamorph doubles the original ATK. That doesn't always mean the printed ATK. Unless it states original ATK on the field/in the Graveyard, it's nearly impossible to determine without rulings. MadRest 00:34, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
