Iv been working on a Gladiator Beast deck, and I think I just about have it where I want it, just had a minor fixing point. i have Majestic Mech Ohka in my deck and im looking for something to block his self destruct effect without blocking the rest of my monsters(no skill drain please). anyway here it is. Thanx for any help.
- Ok i think i found a way around Ohka's self destruct effect with out tributing any monsters. A trap card called Statue of the Wicked(summons a tributeable token). tell me what u think as far as adding this card please.

Advice
Take out Ohka, Blast Magician, Witch Doctor of Sparta, basically anything that does not even loosely fit the Gladiator Beast theme. Next, some of the only Gladiator Equips worth playing are Battle Manica and Archfiend Shield, as they help the Beasts survive, and recycle themselves when your beasts tag out. Finally, use more copies of the same cards, don't rely on single cards because once your opponent deals with that single card, you're done for.
In the end, your result should roughly include:
- ~3 of each level 1-4 Beast that can swap out
- 2 of each level 5+ Beasts (minus fusions)
- ~2 of each level 1-4 Beast that cannot swap out
- ~2 each of Test Ape and Test Tiger
- ~2 each of Manica or Archfiend Shield
- ~3 Waboku and Defensive Tactics each
- 3 Colosseum Cages, or none.
Something among those lines, maybe add a Torrential Tribute or Mirror Force if you have any. Conclusion: If you want a deck to be good, stick only to the theme, don't try to splice unless splicing themes is what you aim to do. Gadjiltron 15:39, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- You could add a Shift, and maybe one more Disarms and Parrys. Dmaster (Contribs • Count) 03:36, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Try Spirit Barrier (now we just need something to keep them from being destroyed). Dmaster (Contribs • Count) 03:34, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Couple things. First, running every Gladiator card isn't always the best option. Be selective in which ones you use. Second, the good thing about Gladiators is they recycle, going back to your deck and not the graveyard. In fact, they are meant to recycle which means one-time use equip cards aren't good for them (like Mist Body, United We Stand, Axe of Despair). Also, because they recycle you can have less monsters in your deck then normal (16-18) instead of the normal 20+, leaving room for more spells and traps. The only thing is your Gladiators need to survive an attack, so Defensive Tatics and Waboku are a must. The second deck listed is a better build of a Gladiator deck and I agree with much of the builders concepts. Dropping Torax, Andal, and Test Ape in favor of more Test Tigers is good. Solemn's are great. And the Gladiator equip cards (though weaker then others) return to your hand which means you don't need as much draw power. Also Alexander and Octavius are too unique of a summons so many of the people I've seen running Gladiator deck don't use them. Food for thought. Lightspeed1967 16:55, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Another thought... in Gladiator deck I haven't seen many run any other monsters then just Gladiators with only a few exception. Best thing to do it test the deck and tune, then repeat. Second thing, Shrink is an awesome card in this deck. Lightspeed1967 18:25, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
