Forum:Pineapple Blast Activation w/Equal Monsters

Okay, so all of the rulings I've read about this card indicate that the number of monsters on the field are counted at resolution, not activation, but what does this mean for activation? If you have an equal number of monsters on both sides of the field when you Normal Summon, can you activate Pineapple Blast? Asking this, because someone suggested using the Winged Rhynos trick with it in that instance, and get a 1-1 destruction effect, and someone else is arguing that that can't happen, and I want to make sure. From the rulings, "If, when "Pineapple Blast" resolves, you have no monsters, all of your opponent's monsters are destroyed too." That means it counts at resolution. MadRest 00:28, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
So that means that you can activate it if you have equal amount of monsters as your opponent, correct? If so, that's what I thought, but you'll be hard pressed to argue that to that one guy. He's insistent that you cannot activate ANY card if, upon activation, the situation wouldn't allow their effects to immediately resolve (so, basically, he compared activating Pineapple Blast to activating MST). Can you give a more detailed description about how this works, so I can try to drill it into his head? Vorpal Storm Pony (talkcontribs) 00:34, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
I didn't understand your question, it seems. According to another ruling, "When "Junk Collector" is Summoned and is the only monster on the field, you cannot activate the effect of "Junk Collector" by removing from play "Pineapple Blast" if your opponent only controls one monster." So, no you cannot activate it if you already have an equal number of monsters. MadRest 01:01, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
