Forum:Problem-solving card text

I was looking around the wiki to see if I could find any cards with Problem-Solving Card Text for effects that I was wondering about, and then I realized that looking through lists for the right cards would take up too much time if I had to do so too often. So, I created this topic in order to get every PSCT-updated effect into a list for easy reference. If you'd like to help, add whatever updated text you find to the list preceded by a brief description of what it does.

Problem-Solving Card Text change list

  • "Remove from play": "Banish"
  • "Is removed from the field": "Leaves the field"
  • "During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent": "If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing Battle Damage to your opponent"
  • "Select": "Target"
  • "This card cannot be (Summon type) Summoned": "Cannot be (Summon type) Summoned"
  • "This card can only be (Summon type) Summoned by": "Must first be (Summon type) Summoned by"
  • "This card cannot be (Summon type) Summoned except by": "Must first be (Summon type) Summoned by [...] and cannot be (Summon type) Summoned by other ways"
  • "Hero" (archetype): "HERO"
  • "Once per turn, during your (Phase)": "Once per (Phase)"
  • Trigger effects use a colon (:) after their timing and/or activation conditions, followed by the cost (if any, and the cost has a semicolon [;] after it if an effect follows), then the effect.

Comments, suggestions, questions, etc

Don't forget the "Condition: Cost; Effect" phrasing. Very helpful for settling ruling debates. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 00:42, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

Added. Thanks!

Why listing anything that was already listed in that link? --iFredCat 01:12, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

Just so that it's here in the big compilation of changes.

Anything are already compared in that link, no need to repeat anything here unless you post the list of cards, but that's also taken by Errata Articles. No bother waste your time doing it in Forum. --iFredCat 01:20, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry if this sounds rude, but did you read my original post? I mentioned that I wanted people to have access to a single compilation instead of having to go through tons of lists to find Problem-Solving Card Text that applies to whatever they're looking for.

Can someone tell/explain to me why sometimes an effect will read "..., also ..." rather than just "..., and ..."? Is there a difference in meaning between "also" and "and"? (See "Darkworld Shackles" as an example). -Bhigpx (talkcontribs) 16:42, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Please do not create a new header when posting here. The header "Comments, suggestions, questions, etc" takes care of that. To answer your question, "and" implies that you carry out whatever effect is listed after it at the same time as the effect that precedes it, whereas "also" designates that it is done separately.
