Craft Points
Craft Points (CP) are the unit of currency in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. They are used to craft specific cards of varying rarities.
Players can earn CP of each rarity by playing Ranked Duels, dismantling unused cards, or from Duel Pass rewards.
Crafting and dismantlingEdit
Craft Points were divided into four rarities, corresponding with the in-game card's rarities: N (Normal), R (Rare), SR (Super Rare), and UR (Ultra Rare). Each cards requires 30 CP of their respective rarity to be crafted. For example, "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", a UR card, requires 30 UR CP to be crafted.
Prior to 30 September 2022, Forbidden cards cannot be crafted regardless of rarity. After that date, some Forbidden cards can be crafted and used in the "Unlimited" format of the game in the Duel Rooms. The pool of Forbidden cards available for craft will be updated monthly. Additionally, certain cards from in-game Structure Decks are exclusive to that product and cannot be obtained in other ways.
When crafting or opening a pack, player has a chance to obtain a card with more elaborate finish. They are sorted as a separate set of cards and grant more CP when dismantled. The Basic (non-foil) grants 10 CP, Glossy Finish 15 CP, and Royal Finish 30 CP respectively. Royal Finishes are exclusive to SR and UR rarities. The player can use "Dismantle All Extra Cards" feature to dismantle all but three of cards of each finishes to quickly dismantle excess cards. Cards obtained as Solo Mode rewards, from Structure Decks, or from any Bonus Pack, cannot be dismantled, but a copy of the same card(s) obtained through other means can be dismantled normally.
Dismantling BonusesEdit
If a card becomes Forbidden/Limited/Semi-Limited, players can dismantle (if possible) the newly-restricted card for 20 additional CP of its corresponding rarity. They can receive this bonus depending on how many copies of the card are no longer legal to use. Cards that move down the list, or cards that are already restricted on release, are exempt from this refund. These changes last for 1 month after the update. For instance:
- Cyber Angel Benten went from unlimited to Limited in May 2022. Players can dismantle the first two copies for 20 bonus SR CP each.
- Destiny HERO - Celestial went from unlimited to Forbidden in August 2022. Players can dismantle the first three copies for 20 bonus R CP each.
- Water Enchantress of the Temple went from Semi-Limited to Limited in September 30 2022. Players can only regain 20 bonus UR CP from dismantling just one copy.
- Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds went from unlimited to Forbidden in December 2022. Players can dismantle the first three copies for 20 bonus SR CP each; however, any copies received from the Legacy Pack prior to this still cannot be dismantled.
- Galatea, the Orcust Automaton went from Limited to Semi-Limited in December 2022. No bonus SR CP can be gained from dismantling this card.
- Agido the Ancient Sentinel was Semi-Limited when it was added to the game. No bonus SR CP can be gained from dismantling a third copy of this card until it got Limited in 8 June 2023.
