Forum:Graverobber vs Exodia winning condition

Revision as of 03:56, 15 June 2012 by 96.44.92.186 (talk)

Traditional format

It is my turn, I have already drawn a card. I have 3 different part of exodia in my hand, I have graverobber ready to activated, however I only have 2000 life points left, I know that the 2 remaining parts of exodia is on the top of my deck, because in the previous turn my opponent attack face-down big eye. I activated graverobber and target my opponent's pot of greed in his graveyard, after that I activated pot of greed I draw two card, now I have the 5 parts of exodia in my hand.

In this situation above would I win the duel before the lingering effect of graverobber applys, or Would I still win the duel after the lingering effect of graverobber apply reducing my life points to 0?96.44.92.186 (talk) 04:14, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

You can always figure out a situation by building the Chain yourself. The Lingering Effect of Graverobber inflicts 2000 damage neither before nor after you draw, but at the same time.

Chain Link 1: Activate Pot of Greed that was obtained via Graverobber.

Resolve:

Chain Link 1: Draw 2 cards. Have all pieces of Exodia in hand. Lose 2000 LP.

The duel ends in a draw.  HHT   - (Talk to the Turtle) 06:05, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Normal winning and losing condition still take presidence over winning condition, and the winning condition of exodia would be apply after you loss causing a draw in this situation above. [<wait a minute that doesn't make any sense. Because the way you said it, exodia winning condition happen at the same time the card resolve to be able to make a draw. Which according to the ruling I have seen in this website, exodia winning condition apply after one card resolve>].

Chain link 1: Activate "Pot of Greed" that was obtained via " Graverobber"

Resolve:

Chain link 1: draw 2 cards. Have all pieces of exodia in hand. Lose 2000 Lp. My life points reach 0 at the same time resolution ends, so I would lose the duel before exodia winning condition as a chance to apply. 96.44.92.186 (talk) 13:36, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

You won AND lost the game at same time; which is called Draw. --iFredCat 22:21, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry! I forgot that exodia winning condition is consider to apply at the same time with in one resolution of a different card. So both user Hide head, and Fred Cat 100 turtle is correct for the situation above. 96.44.92.186 (talk) 03:55, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
