Sera, her brother, [[Aigami|Diva]], [[Mani]] and other orphans lived with an a [[Slave slave merchant|abusive man]]. He would allow them to sleep in his house, until [[Shadi Shin]] arrived, granted them but they would have to beg on the power of streets for money. If he was not satisfied with the Prana amount they brought back, he would scold and killed the manrefuse to feed them.<ref name="dsod">''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions]]''</ref>

One dayAfter Diva and Sera returned an unsatisfactory amount of money, they were scolded by the slave merchant and apologized to the other children for costing them a meal. Mani insisted it was not their fault and that no matter how much they brought back the slave merchant would say it was not enough. He offered them a pillow, saying hugging it almost feels like having a big meal. After hearing the group laughing, the merchant entered the room, when demanding to know what was funny.<ref name="dsod" /> [[Shadi Shin]] then arrived. He declared that he was teaching freeing the children and immobilized the slave merchant. Shadi pressed on the children's heads, making gold symbols momentarily appear, then teleported each child away, before using the [[Quantum Cube]] to make the slave merchant disappear.<ref name="dsod" /> Shadi became a mentor figure in the children's lives and gave them the power of the [[Prana]]. In the kids [[Shrine of the Millennium Stone|Mortuary Temple]], he taught them about the [[Millennium Items]]. One day, [[Dark Bakura 's father (manga)|Dark Bakura's father]] murdered Shadi, along with some entered the temple in the hopes of purchasing the orphans[[Millennium Ring]]. The events led to his son, [[Ryo Bakura (manga)|Ryo Bakura]], coming into contact with Aigamithe Ring, Seraawaking [[Dark Bakura (manga)|Dark Bakura]], who then killed Shadi and Mani attacked the only survivorschildren. <ref name="dsod" /> Aigami, Sera and Mani resided with a group of children, in the [[Prana Realm]]. Aigami and Sera decided to leave one day and went with a group of children. Mani also left to keep an eye on them.<ref name="dsod" />
