Card Trivia:Thor, Lord of the Aesir
- This monster appears in the artwork of "March Towards Ragnarok".
- This card is based on Thor, the Nordic god of thunder in Norse mythology who is often depicted wielding the legendary hammer Mjölnir in his left hand.
- The handle of the hammer wielded by this monster is shaped like the thurisaz (ᚦ) rune, which is commonly associated with Thor.
- This card features the following differences from the other "Aesir" monsters:
- It is the only "Aesir" monster whose effect to Special Summon itself from the Graveyard does not involve adding cards to the hand, as this card inflicts effect damage instead.
- It is the only one whose OCG/TCG Type does not match that of the "Nordic" sub-archetype it is tied to; this card is a Beast-Warrior, while the "Nordic Beast" monsters are Beast monsters.
- In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds anime, this card is the only "Aesir" monster whose animation when Special Summoned from the Graveyard did not involve the monster descending from the sky, as this monster rose from the oceans instead.
- It is also the only "Aesir" monster whose effects in the anime were changed upon its release in the OCG/TCG; its ability to negate a monster's effect(s) and use the negated monster's effect(s) as its own was dropped in favor of negating the effects of all monsters the opponent controls instead.
- In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, this monster had the same Attribute (DIVINE) and Type (Divine-Beast) as "Loki, Lord of the Aesir" and "Odin, Father of the Aesir".
- In the anime, this monster was depicted as the second tallest of the three "Aesir" monsters, while "Loki" was the shortest, and "Odin" was the tallest.
