Forum:Red Nova Dragon defeat

Can I use Fiendish Chain to negate all of Red Nova Dragon's effects and then destroy it using a card effect or an attack? Or can I use Soul Exchange to tribute my opponent's Red Nova Dragon to summon my own monster? And if I attack Red Nova Dragon and it's negate attack effect activates and then my Light and Darkness Dragon's negate effect activates, what would happen to Red Nova Dragon? Does it remain on the field and get attacked or what? And if my Light and Darkness Dragon is destroyed and it's "destroy all cards you control" effect activates, can I use Stardust Dragon's effect to save my cards? Or can I use Prime Material Dragon to save the monsters on my side of the field? And if Light and Darkness Dragon's destroying effect is negated by either Stardust Dragon or Prime Material Dragon, can I still special summon a monster from my graveyard? Last question: if Light and Darkness Dragon is on my side of the field, does it negate the effects of the spells, traps and monster effects that I activate? I know I asked a lot of questions, but I need help. Thanks. 75.11.161.69 (talk) 19:09, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

  1. 1 yes
  2. 2 yes
  3. 3 not sure, probaly be destroyed, because his effect was negated and he's removed from the field by then.
  4. 4 read above
  5. 5 You can use Stardust's effect to negate anything that destroys, I believe.
  6. 6 Primate Material Dragon will negate it if you discard 1 card.
  7. 7 No
  8. 8 No

Each question is answered sentence/question per sentence/question. Drew-Gi-Oh! (talkcontribs) 19:45, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

1. Fiendish Chain will negate both of Red Nova Dragon's continuous effects (ATK increase and immunity) so you'll be able to destroy it with cards effects. Note that Fiendish Chain won't negate the activation of its Quick effect, so your opponent will be able to remove from play his monster if you declare an attack. Once Red Nova Dragon hits the RFP zone, Fiendish Chain stays on the field meaninglessly (and unable to negate Red Nova Dragon) and the effect will resolve propely, negating one of your attacks. During the End Phase of that turn, Red Nova Dragon will be Special Summoned back to the field unharmed (its effects won't be negated anymore). There are no official rulings about it, still.

2. You can tribute Red Nova Dragon with Soul Exchange. It doesn't get destroyed, so its "defenses" can't stop you.

3. If you attack your opponent's Red Nova Dragon while Raida is on the field and your opponent activates Red Nova Dragon's Quick Effect to negate one of your attacks, Light and Darkness Dragon will negate it (if it's still able to lose 500 ATK/DEF) and Red Nova Dragon will be removed from play forever. Its Quick Effect gets negated so Red Nova Dragon won't be able to activate its last Trigger Effect to come back during the End Phase of that turn.

4. If you use Stardust Dragon or Prime Material Dragon to stop your own Raida from destroying all of your cards then its Trigger Effect will be negated and you won't be able to Special Summon the chosen monster from your Graveyard.

5. Light and Darkness Dragon will try to negate every Spell, Trap and Effect Monster's activation (which starts a new Chain, with Raida's effect as Chain Link 2). Its effect is mandatory and it won't disregard even your own cards, so you should pay attention. 151.51.35.146 (talk) 20:40, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, so i was jsut wrong on that last one. I thought it was like Stardust Dragon's ability, not Stardust Buster...Drew-Gi-Oh! (talkcontribs) 03:20, July 25, 2010 (UTC)

3&4) "Red Nova Dragon" removes from play itself as an effect, not as a cost. If "Light and Darkness Dragon" negates the effect, then "Red Nova Dragon" remains face-up on the field, and the attack continues as normal. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 18:57, July 28, 2010 (UTC)

I didn't expect that. I thought it was more like Necro Gardna, but it seems I've found a rara avis instead. Thanks for your clarification.--151.51.8.90 (talk) 20:34, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
