The Galaxy Cup was a Rush Duel tournament held in Mutsuba Town in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime, meant to celebrate the friendship and unity between humans and aliens.
The tournament was sponsored by Mutsuba Heavy Machinery, led by Asaka Mutsuba, the Goha Company, led by Yuna Goha, and the newly reformed MIK, led by Phaser Ryugu. Damamu, Ranran Nanahoshi, and Menjaburo Omori served as the MCs, streaming Duels live to the town's populace and providing commentary.
Flow of the tournament[edit]
Preliminaries[edit]
The tournament repurposed Coruffium's Rush Battlers to track each participant's progress and total point count throughout the tournament, with the entire Mutsuba Town serving as the battlefield. After several days, 8 finalists emerged, and were placed in a labyrinth where the semi-finals would be held. Asaka, Yuna, and Phaser directly advanced to the finals as part of a trial for the finalists to overcome.

Prize[edit]
The winner will get a copy of the Trap Card "Interstellar Change", which just like the tournament itself promotes the unity between humans and aliens by allowing them to switch places in the midst of a Duel. Phaser himself entered the tournament with a copy of it, so a special rule was made that only allowed him to switch players with someone from another planet. The same restriction also applied to whoever took his place if the card happened to be activated again.
