- This can be chained to an opponent's card effect that would destroy it, such as "Mystical Space Typhoon","Dust Tornado","Fortune Lady Wind",or "Breaker the Magical Warrior", effectively destroying 2 monsters for free.
- Use this in conjunction with "Kuraz the Light Monarch", "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys", "Dark Nephthys", or "Mobius the Frost Monarch" to easily destroy your opponent's monsters.
- You can use this card to select one monster on your field, and one monster on your opponent's field you wish to destroy. You can then use the selected monster for a Synchro Summon and destroy your opponent's monster.
- You can enable or prevent "Yubel" from being destroyed through this card's effect by selecting "Yubel" and one other monster on the field. Your opponent will then have to avoid having that second monster destroyed to prevent "Yubel" from leveling up.
- Even better, trigger the "Dud"'s destruction, and thus the leveling up of "Yubel", yourself. Select a monster you control and "Yubel". When "Yubel" tributes that monster during the end phase, "Dud" will be destroyed.
- You can also use "Widespread Dud" when "Yubel - Terror Incarnate" is on the field. Select "Terror Incarnate" and any monster on the field. When "Terror Incarnate's" effect destroys all monsters on the field, "Widespread Dud" will be destroyed.
- Even better, trigger the "Dud"'s destruction, and thus the leveling up of "Yubel", yourself. Select a monster you control and "Yubel". When "Yubel" tributes that monster during the end phase, "Dud" will be destroyed.
- Use when your opponent summons one "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus" while you have two cards on the field, this one and another attack position monster. They select your two cards, you activate "Widespread Dud", destroying their "Gyzarus" in the process.
- You can use this card when your opponent activates "Judgement Dragon's" destruction effect, assuming there is at least one other attack position monster on the field. After the resolution of "Judgement Dragon's" effect, the field will be completely clear.
- Target your opponent's "Stardust Dragon" and one other attack position monster on their field with this card. Not only is "Stardust Dragon" unable to negate this card's effect, if your opponent uses their "Stardust Dragon" to negate another one of your cards they lose their other monster as well.
- You can set this card and "Compulsory Evacuation Device" while "Fortune Lady Light" is on the field, so that you can return "Fortune Lady Light" to your hand and destroy the opponent monster, and summon other "Fortune Lady" monster.
- In order to gain this card faster, rather than draw it, by using "A Cat of Ill Omen"'s effect combined with "Necrovalley".
- Select two of your opponent's monsters with this card, then suicide one of your monsters to destroy two of your opponent's monsters with one attack. Use cards that can Special Summon other monsters so you can attack directly. Good recommendations are "Mystic Tomato", "UFO Turtle" or "Masked Dragon".
- Using "Double Cyclone", "The Six Samurai - Kamon" or "Harpies' Hunting Ground" are other ways to destroy your own "Widespread Dud".
- You can activate Widespread Dud and then tribute it to summon Uria, Lord of Searing Flames since it is a continuous trap. This would get rid of your opponents monsters and possibly clear the field (provided they only had two monsters on the field) for you to attack with Uria.
