Magical Knight (
Duel Monsters (manga)[edit]
"Gaia the Fierce Knight" was described as the "strongest card in the Magical Knight Type" in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel 37: "To the Death!!". In the English manga, this was changed to "Warrior Type", matching the Type "Gaia The Fierce Knight" was assigned in the OCG. The Magical Knight Type is not mentioned in any subsequent chapters.
Rush Duel[edit]
Magical Knight was introduced in Extra Transcend Enhancement Pack alongside the first Fusion Monsters in Rush Duels. They are used by Yuga Ohdo in Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS.
Despite its name suggesting a combination of the Spellcaster and Warrior Types, Magical Knight Type monsters use a variety of non-Spellcaster materials. For non-humanoid Types, the second material often acts as a mount for the Spellcaster rather than merging with it into a single being.
Rush Duel pays homage to the manga Duel Monsters Type through "Gaia the Battle Ruler", a Magical Knight Fusion of "Gaia the Fierce Knight" and "Curse of Dragon".
