"Yugi vs. Atem!!" (
The kanji in the Japanese name is normally read as Yūgi Bāsasu Ō!!, meaning "Yugi VS King!!" or "Game VS King!!" and contains the two portions of the series name Yu-Gi-Oh! (Yūgiō!), literally King of Games. The furigana makes the name of the chapter Yūgi Bāsasu Atemu!!, meaning "Yugi vs. Atem!!".
In its first English printing, it was numbered as the 61st chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Millennium World. In the 3-in-1 edition, its number was changed to match the original Japanese printing.
Yugi Mutou's Ceremonial Duel with Atem begins to decide their fates. Both Duelists showcase a variety of new strategies, holding nothing back from the start of the match.
Featured Duel: Yugi Mutou vs. Atem
During this Duel, both players start the game with six cards in their opening hands instead of five.
Turn 1: Atem
Atem's hand contains "Monster Reborn" and six unknown cards. Atem discards one card to Special Summon "The Tricky" (2000/1200) in Attack Position. Atem Sets a card.
Turn 2: Yugi
Yugi activates the Spell Card "Swords of Revealing Light", preventing Atem from attacking for three of his turns. Yugi Normal Summons "Green Gadget" (1400/600) in Attack Position. Yugi Sets a card.
Turn 3: Atem
Atem activates the Spell Card "Rebellion", allowing him to choose one monster Yugi controls to attack him. Atem chooses "Green Gadget", which attacks Yugi directly. As he was attacked directly, Yugi activates the Trap Field Monster "Stronghold the Moving Fortress", negating the attack and Special Summoning itself in Defense Position (0/2000).
Turn 4: Yugi
Yugi activates the Spell Card "Ties of the Brethren", paying 1000 Life Points (Yugi 4000 → 3000) to Special Summon two Level 4 or lower monsters from his Deck with the same Type, but they cannot attack or be Sacrificed. Yugi Special Summons "Yellow Gadget" (???/1200) and "Red Gadget" (???/1500) in Defense Position. As Yugi controls "Green Gadget", "Yellow Gadget" and "Red Gadget", "Stronghold the Moving Fortress" switches to Attack Position and gains 3000 ATK ("Stronghold": 0 → 3000). "Stronghold" attacks "The Tricky", but Atem activates his Set Spell Card "Bounce", allowing him to apply the effect of a Spell Card to another player's field. Atem transfers the effect of "Swords of Revealing Light" to Yugi, preventing "Stronghold" from attacking.
Duel continues in the next chapter.
