Being able to redirect attacks to itself, this card can work well with cards such as "Heart of Clear Water" and "Mist Body".
However with this set-up established, the opponent will likely not declare an attack at all, preventing this card from being able to use its milling effect (for better or for worse).
The unique feature about this card is that its DEF-gaining effect can activate every time it becomes an attack target, and the gained DEF lasts until the End Phase. So, when paired with a card that forces the opponent to attack, this can result in many cards being sent from the Deck to the Graveyard, as well as the opponent taking a lot of damage.
"Dimension Mirage" can be a very useful supplement for this combo, since it can force an opponent's monster to attack multiple times. Furthermore, this card's DEF-gaining effect can potentially keep sending more monsters to the Graveyard, fueling more activations of that Trap's effect.
In order for this combo to take place however, this monster must be able to survive its first few attacks. This can be addressed in several ways:
Using card effects that specifically allow it to survive destruction by battle. Ideally, these should be card effects that surprise the opponent, such as "Armory Call" (equipping something like "Heart of Clear Water" or "Mist Body"), "Half Shut" (which can be versatile for lowering an opposing monster's ATK instead), "Hedge Guard", "Pianissimo", or "Waboku".
