Korean

Korean cards are manufactured by Daewon for distribution in South Korea. The first seven sets with Korean prints (Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon, Starter Deck: Yugi, Starter Deck: Kaiba, Metal Raiders, Spell Ruler, Pharaoh's Servant, and Tournament Pack: 1st Season) were printed with card numbers containing the region code K; all subsequent sets have used the region code KR.

Being part of the OCG, Korean cards follow Japanese printing schedules. However, they also follow some TCG product lines, such as the Hidden Arsenal series, and have a few exclusive sets and cards.

The classic sets Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon to Ancient Sanctuary were released rapidly, one after another, in an effort to catch up with the 5-year-old game at the time. They were released the same as the TCG, having both First and Unlimited Edition prints. They used the same rarities, and the Secret Rare cards had the TCG foiling, with diagonal lines. Once all those sets were out they started following the Japanese products more closely, this among other things prompted the Secret Rare foiling change to the OCG cross-style format. So by the time the Unlimited Editions from those eleven sets were reprinted, the Secret Rares had a foiling change, and that way they can be distinguished from original Unlimited prints.

When Ultimate Rare cards were introduced to Main Sets for the TCG in Soul of the Duelist, they did so for Korean as well. From Soul of the Duelist up to Enemy of Justice they followed the TCG format of having all the Rare, Super Rare and Ultra Rare cards also as Ultimate Rare. This changed in Power of the Duelist where the Rare cards were left out to follow the Japanese format of only the foil cards being available in Ultimate Rare. But unlike with the Classic sets, later and modern reprints of those sets remain the same, and the Rare cards can still appear as Ultimate Rare.

Korean cards have their own backing, with the first Korean logo. They use a terminology translated from Japanese, but they are formatted with the TCG style. For example, the type line "[Dragon/Synchro/Effect]" is written "[드래곤족/싱크로/효과]", using a slash instead of a middle dot as in the Japanese style ([드래곤족싱크로/효과]); the copyright text on the bottom-right corner is English. They also use censored TCG artworks, though the Korean-dubbed shows have uncensored OCG artworks.

Near the end of Series 9, the last packs with both 1st and Unlimited Editions were released, after that, only Unlimited Edition packs were. Around the time of the release for LINK VRAINS Pack, the number of packs per box for Secondary Sets was reduced from 30 to 15 to coincide with the Japanese number. And for Main Sets it was done with the release of Dark Neostorm, this also marked the change from the Standing-style box with a single row of 40 packs, to the flat two-pile style with 30 packs only; again, just like the Japanese format. These changes and some others are being made to homogenize Korea and Japan, but some rarities and many promotional items are still exclusive to Japan.
