Battle damage (Japanese:
In a battle, a monster inflicts battle damage in the damage calculation part of the Damage Step. Whether or not battle damage is inflicted, and how much of it is inflicted, is determined in damage calculation.
Interactions with effects
Card effects can change the amount and the recipient of battle damage at the moment it is inflicted. When multiple card effects that modify battle damage are applied, they are considered in the following order.[1]
- Inflict double battle damage
- Both players take battle damage
- Battle damage you take is also inflicted to your opponent, you/your opponent takes battle damage instead
- Battle damage is treated as effect damage
- Gain LP equal to the battle damage instead
- Battle damage becomes 0
- Battle damage becomes halved
- Battle damage becomes doubled
- Battle damage becomes a fixed value
- Do not take battle damage that is more/less than or equal to a fixed value
