"Reborn Tengu" is an example of a card whose effect activates when it leaves the field.

A card leaves the field, formerly known as being removed from the field, when it is returned from the field to the hand or Extra Deck, sent from the field to the Graveyard, or banished from the field. Cards that are attached as Xyz Materials or that are detached are not considered to leave the field.

As of September 1st, 2011, when a card is returned from the field to the Main Deck, that card cannot activate their “leaves the field” effect.[1]

Any effect whose condition involves leaving the field will not activate if the card leaves while face-down.

Exceptions

In the OCG, it has been ruled that if "Grandsoil the Elemental Lord" is returned to the Deck, its effect to skip its controller's next Battle Phase will be applied.[2]
