A column (縦列) is a line of four Zones on the field stretching from a player's Spell & Trap Zone to their opponent's. There are five columns on the field.
Only five cards in the OCG/TCG mention columns: "Storm Shooter", "Alien Infiltrator", "Rampaging Rhynos", "Blasting Fuse", and "Defense Zone".
