Lists

Fiends (あく Akuma "Demon") are a monster Type consisting of cards resembling demons and devils, as well as many other vile, twisted, beasts or mischievous beings. Fiends receive a power-up from the "Yami" Field Spell Card, as well as more recently "The Gates of Dark World" and "Archfiend Palabyrinth". Since many Fiends are DARK, they also get a boost from "Mystic Plasma Zone". Many have effects that hinder or punish the opponent and many others require penalties from the user. Some Fiend cards work together while others Tribute themselves, other cards or pay Life Points to use their effects. There are also a great number of monsters and spells that Summon Fiend-Type Tokens, which can be used either as Tributes or simple stall defenders.

Fiends are most notably used by PaniK, Yami Bakura, and Declan Akaba. Some of both Yugi Muto and Jack Atlas's most well known monsters are Fiends. Fiend-Type Monsters are also Required to Summon the Fiend-Type Sacred Beast "Raviel, Lord of Phantasms".

Fiend-Type monsters have their own structure Deck, Structure Deck: Gates of the Underworld, focusing on the "Dark World" monsters.

Fiend archetypes and series include "Archfiend", "Dark World", "Evil HERO", "Djinn of Rituals", "Fabled", "Steelswarm", "Wicked God", "Resonator", "Crashbug", "D/D" and "Infernoids. Several members of LV Monsters, e.g. "Dark Lucius" and "Dark Mimic", are Fiend-Types. The "Kuri" series, although not exclusively made up of Fiends, contain a significant number of them.
