A Rank is an indicator that is exclusive to Exceed Monsters, used in place of a Level. It is indicated by a number of stars, similar to a Level; however, they are aligned at the left side of the card, and are depicted by a yellow star on a black circle. The Rank of an Exceed Monster is the same as the Level of its Exceed Material Monsters.
It should be noted, however, that the Rank itself is NOT a Level, so therefore cards that pertain to the Level of a Monster, such as "Gravity Bind", do NOT affect Exceed monsters, they cannot be tributed for Ritual Monsters and they cannot be used as Synchro Material Monsters.
