The Start Step (Japanese: スタートステップ Sutātosuteppu) is the first step of the Battle Phase.
Breakdown of the Start Step[edit]
- The turn player now declares that he/she is entering the Battle Phase.
- Fast effects and appropriate Trigger Effects may be activated here, such as those of "Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon", "Threatening Roar", or "Anti-Magic Arrows".[1]
- Even if the turn player wishes to end the Battle Phase at this point, they must proceed to the Battle Step in order to do so.[1][2]
