9500: Can both players use the effect of "Advance Force"?
- The effect of "Advance Force" can only be used by the player who activated it.
9501: If "Advance Force" is active, then can you Tribute Summon by Tributing two monsters?
- When Tribute Summoning a Level 7+ monster, applying the effect of "Advance Force" is optional. If "Advance Force" is active, then you can choose to not apply its effect and Tribute Summon a Level 7+ monster by Tributing two monsters, including a Level 5+ monster(s).
9502: If an ATK is increased by an Equip Spell Card, then how does "" change the ATK?
- When "[[:]]" resolves, its effect replaces the monster's ATK and DEF values.
- Example: "Elemental Hero Neos Alius" (1900 ATK / 1300 DEF) is equipped with "Axe of Despair" (+1000 ATK). After "[[:]]" resolves, "Elemental Hero Neos Alius" will have 1300 ATK / 2900 DEF. These values do not change if "Axe of Despair" is destroyed. Afterwards, if "Elemental Hero Neos Alius" is then equipped with "Black Pendant" (+500 ATK), then "Elemental Hero Neos Alius" will have 1800 ATK.
- Card Rulings:Axe of Despair, Card Rulings:Black Pendant, Card Rulings:Elemental HERO Neos Alius, [[:Card Rulings:]]
- When resolving "Core Blast", if you do not control any "Koa'ki Meiru" monsters - for example, if "Book of Moon" or "Compulsory Evacuation Device" is Chained - then the effect of "Core Blast" which destroys the opponent's cards still resolves.
9504: How long does the ATK/DEF-replacing effect of "" last?
- The ATK and DEF which are replaced by the effect of "[[:]]" remain as long as the monster remains face-up on the field. If the monster is flipped face-down or is removed from the field, then its ATK and DEF return to their original amounts.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9505: Are the "destroy" and "recover" effects of "Destruct Potion" treated as resolving simultaneously?
- The effect of "Destruct Potion" which destroys the monster and the effect which recovers Life Points are treated as resolving simultaneously.
- Example: If "Archfiend of Gilfer" is destroyed by "Destruct Potion", then you can equip "Archfiend of Gilfer" to a monster on the field.
9506: Can the effect of "Core Blast" or "Pineapple Blast" destroy Spell and Trap Cards?
- The effect of "Core Blast" destroys cards on the opponent's side of the field, so you can also destroy Spell and Trap Cards until your opponent controls the same number of cards as you control monsters.
- The effect of "Pineapple Blast" destroys the opponent's monsters, so you cannot destroy Spell nor Trap Cards until your opponent controls the same number of monsters as you.
9507: Can you activate the effect of "" which removes from play during the opponent's turn?
- The effect of "[[:]]" which removes from play a monster from your side of the field can also be activated during the opponent's turn. This is a Spell Speed 2 effect which starts a Chain Link.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9508: [Damage Step] Can "" be activated in the Damage Step?
- "[[:]]" can also be activated during the Damage Step, but not during damage calculation or onwards.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9509: Each effect of "Alien Brain" is applied for how long?
- If you gain control of a monster by the effect of "Alien Brain", then you retain control of the monster as long as the monster remains on the field. The effect which treats the monster's Type as a Reptile is applied as long as the monster remains face-up on the field. Thus, if the monster is later flipped face-down by an effect like "Book of Moon", then the effect which gives you control of the monster is still applied, but the effect which treats its Type as Reptile is no longer applied.
1X[edit]
9510: Trap Card > Starlight Road
- "Starlight Road" is activated directly in Chain to an effect which destroys two or more cards on the field.
- "Starlight Road" is not treated as a "Lightsworn" card.
9511: Trap Card >
- The effect of "[[:]]" targets one monster which was destroyed by battle and sent to your Graveyard.
- "[[:]]" cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9512: Effect Monster > Backup Warrior
- "Backup Warrior" is a Special Summon monster.
- If you already Synchro Summoned during this turn, then you cannot Special Summon "Backup Warrior".
9513: Effect Monster > Junk Collector
- The effect of "Junk Collector" cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
- Removing from play "Junk Collector" from the field and a Normal Trap Card from your Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect of "Junk Collector".
- For the effect of "Junk Collector", you can only remove from play a Normal Trap Card whose activation timing is correct.
9514: Spell Card >
- The effect of "[[:]]" which Special Summons a monster from your Deck activates and starts a Chain Link when a Machine-Type monster which was destroyed by battle is sent to the Graveyard.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9515: Effect Monster > Scrap Recycler
- The effect of "Scrap Recycler" which sends a Machine-Type monster from the Deck to the Graveyard can be activated even when "Scrap Recycler" is Special Summoned during the Damage Step.
9516: Effect Monster > Machina Peacekeeper
- You can activate the effect of "Machina Peacekeeper" which adds a Union monster from your Deck to your hand even when "Machina Peacekeeper" is destroyed during the Damage Step.
- The effect of "Machina Peacekeeper" which equips it to a Machine-Type monster is an Ignition Effect. Its effect while it is equipped is treated as the effect of a Spell Card.
9517: Effect Monster > Machina Gearframe
- The effect of "Machina Gearframe" which equips it to a Machine-Type monster is an Ignition Effect. Its effect while it is equipped is treated as the effect of a Spell Card.
9518: Effect Monster > Machina Fortress
- "Machina Fortress" is a Normal Summon monster.
- When Special Summoning "Machina Fortress", discarding from your hand is a cost.
- The effect which Special Summons "Machina Fortress" by discarding monster(s) from the hand does not start a Chain Link.
- When "Machina Fortress" is destroyed by battle, its effect activates and targets one card on your opponent's side of the field.
- When "Machina Fortress" is targeted by an opponent's monster's effect, its effect which discards a card from your opponent's hand does not start a Chain Link.
9519: Effect Monster >
- "[[:]]" is a Special Summon monster.
- After "[[:]]" was Special Summoned by the method written in its text, it may be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by another card's effect.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
2X[edit]
9520: Effect Monster > The Winged Dragon of Ra
- The text "You must Tribute 3 monsters to Normal Summon this card (you cannot Set this card)." of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" is not treated as the effect of an Effect Monster.
- When "The Winged Dragon of Ra" is Normal Summoned, paying Life Points to increase its ATK is an optional effect that activates.
- Paying Life Points until you have 100 Life Points is a cost to activate the effect of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" which increases its ATK and DEF.
- Paying 1000 Life Points is a cost to activate the effect of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" which destroys a monster.
- The effect of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" which destroys a monster is activated by targeting one monster on the field.
9521: Fusion Monster > Koalo-Koala
- Sending one Beast-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect of "Koalo-Koala".
- The effect of "Koalo-Koala" targets one monster on your opponent's side of the field.
9522: Effect Monster >
- The effect of "[[:]]" activates when Battle Damage is inflicted to the opponent by "[[:]]" battling with a monster.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9523: Effect Monster > Sweet Corn
- Paying 500 Life Points is a cost to activate the effect of "Sweet Corn".
9524: Effect Monster > Danipon
9525: Spell Card > Court of Justice
- You can only activate the effect of "Court of Justice" during your own turn's Main Phase.
- The effect of "Court of Justice" which Special Summons a Fairy-Type monster from your hand starts a Chain Link.
- The effect of "Court of Justice" can Special Summon a high-Levelled Normal Summon monster from your hand.
- The effect of "Court of Justice" cannot Special Summon a Special Summon monster.
9526: Spell Card > Dragonic Tactics
- Tributing two Dragon-Type monsters is a cost to activate "Dragonic Tactics".
- You can activate "Dragonic Tactics" by Tributing a face-down Dragon-Type monster(s).
- The effect of "Dragonic Tactics" does not target.
9527: Spell Card >
- The Fusion Material Monsters are returned to the Deck when resolving the effect of "[[:]]" which Fusion Summons. It is not a cost to activate the effect.
- The effect of "[[:]]" does not target.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9528: Fusion Monster >
- The effect of "[[:]]" which halves the ATK and DEF of monsters activates when "[[:]]" is Summoned and starts a Chain Link.
- If a monster's ATK and DEF are halved by the effect of "[[:]]", then the effect will be applied as long as the monster remains face-up on the field.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9529: Effect Monster > Spawn Alligator
- The effect of "Spawn Alligator" which Special Summons a monster which was Tributed is a Trigger Effect.
- The effect of "Spawn Alligator" which Special Summons a monster which was Tributed starts a Chain Link during the End Phase.
3X[edit]
9530: Effect Monster > Lion Alligator
9531: Effect Monster > Cyber Larva
9532: Effect Monster > Great Poseidon Beetle
9533: Effect Monster > Armored Bee
- The effect of "Armored Bee" targets one monster which is face-up on your opponent's side of the field.
9534: Effect Monster > Quick-Span Knight
- The effect of "Quick-Span Knight" activates when the Synchro Monster is successfully Synchro Summoned.
- The effect of "Quick-Span Knight" targets one monster which is face-up on your opponent's side of the field.
9535: Normal Monster > Beast of Talwar
- If the Special Summon of "Backup Warrior" is negated by an effect like that of "Solemn Judgment" or "Thunder King Rai-Oh", then you still cannot Synchro Summon during the same turn. If the Synchro Summon of a Synchro Monster is negated, then you still cannot Special Summon "Backup Warrior" during the same turn.
9537: Can "Backup Warrior" be Special Summoned by effects like "Monster Reborn"?
- After "Backup Warrior" was Special Summoned properly as per its text, then after "Backup Warrior" is sent to the Graveyard from the field you may Special Summoned "Backup Warrior" from the Graveyard by effects like "Monster Reborn" or "Call of the Haunted". This is allowed even if the only monsters you control are not two Defense Position monsters. Also, you cannot Synchro Summon during the turn in which "Backup Warrior" is Special Summoned from the Graveyard.
9538: Can you Synchro Summon if "Backup Warrior" was Special Summoned while "Skill Drain" was active?
- The text "If this card is Special Summoned, you cannot Synchro Summon this turn." of "Backup Warrior" is not treated as an effect of an Effect Monster, so "Skill Drain" cannot negate it. Thus, you cannot Synchro Summon during the turn in which you Special Summon "Backup Warrior" even if the effect of "Skill Drain" is active.
9539: Can the effect of "Junk Collector" be activated by removing from play "Fake Trap"?
- If your opponent activates a card's effect which destroys Trap Cards on your side of the field, then you cannot activate the effect of "Junk Collector" by removing from play "Fake Trap", since you cannot apply the effect "destroy this card instead" of "Fake Trap".
4X[edit]
- If "Junk Collector" is the only monster on the field, then you cannot activate its effect by removing from play "Reinforcements", since there would be no monsters on the field to be targeted by the ATK-increasing effect.
- You cannot activate the effect of "Junk Collector" by removing from play card like "Metalmorph" or "Blast with Chain". You can activate the effect by removing from play "Kunai with Chain", but you can only apply the effect which changes an attacking monster to Defense Position when an opponent's monster declares an attack. You cannot apply the effect which equips it to a monster on your side of the field.
- The effect of "Junk Collector" activated by removing from play a Normal Trap Card is treated as the effect of an Effect Monster. Thus, if you activate the effect of "Junk Collector" by removing from play "Needle Ceiling" while "Elemental Hero Wildheart" is on the field, then the effect will destroy "Elemental Hero Wildheart".
- If "Junk Collector" is the only monster on the field, then you cannot remove from play "Ceasefire" to activate its effect; if you did, then there would be no monsters on the field after activation, so the damage-inflicting effect cannot be applied. Likewise, if "Junk Collector" is Summoned and is the only monster on the field, then you cannot remove from play "Torrential Tribute" to activate its effect; if you did, then there would be no monsters on the field after activation, so the effect which destroys monsters cannot be applied.
- If the effect of "Junk Collector" is activated by removing from play a Trap Card like "Icarus Attack" which targets, then you select the effect's target when the effect activates.
- You can only activate the effect of "Junk Collector" by removing from play a Trap Card like "Sakuretsu Armor" or "Magical Explosion" which has a specific activation timing if the activation timing is correct. Thus, you cannot activate the effect by removing from play "Sakuretsu Armor" other than when your opponent declares an attack, and you cannot activate the effect by removing from play "Magical Explosion" if you have one or more cards in your hand.
- If the effect of "Junk Collector" is activated by removing from play a Trap Card like "Return from the Different Dimension" which has a cost, then you do not pay the removed card's cost.
- Suppose "Heavy Storm" is activated while there are two or more Spell/Trap Cards on the field, and "Starlight Road" is Chained. After "Starlight Road" Special Summons "Stardust Dragon", the resolution of the negated "Heavy Storm" still occurs, so "Torrential Tribute" cannot be activated since you miss the timing.
- If "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6" and one other monster are face-up on the field and "Lightning Vortex" is activated, then "Starlight Road" may be activated in Chain to "Lightning Vortex".
9549: Is "Starlight Road" activated directly in Chain to an effect which destroys?
- "Starlight Road" is activated directly in Chain to an effect which destroys two or more cards on the field.
- Example: If the effect of "Judgment Dragon" is activated and "Call of the Haunted" is Chained to the effect of "Judgment Dragon", then "Starlight Road" cannot be Chained to "Call of the Haunted" since "Starlight Road" must be Chained directly to the effect of "Judgment Dragon".
5X[edit]
- "Starlight Road" can be Chained to "R - Righteous Justice" only if "R - Righteous Justice" would destroy two or more cards you control.
- Suppose your opponent controls three "Elemental Hero" monsters and one Spell/Trap Cards, and you control two Spell/Trap Cards. If your opponent activates "R - Righteous Justice", then you can Chain "Starlight Road".
- Suppose your opponent controls three "Elemental Hero" monsters and two Spell/Trap Cards, and you control two Spell/Trap Cards. If your opponent activates "R - Righteous Justice", then you cannot Chain "Starlight Road", since it is unknown whether or not your opponent will destroy two Spell/Trap Cards on your side of the field.
- If the effect of "Elemental Hero Stratos" which destroys Spell/Trap Cards is activated, then when resolving the effect its controller can choose to not destroy any Spell/Trap Cards. Thus, "Starlight Road" cannot be Chained to this effect, since it is unknown whether or not the effect of "Elemental Hero Stratos" will destroy two Spell/Trap Cards you control.
- The effect of "Starlight Road" which negates and destroys does not resolve at the same time as the effect which Special Summons "Stardust Dragon". "Stardust Dragon" is Special Summoned after the card is destroyed and its effect is negated. If "Stardust Dragon" cannot be Special Summoned, then the effect finishes resolving with negating the effect and destroying the card.
- "Starlight Road" cannot be Chained to the activation of effects like that of "Dark Master - Zorc" or "Time Wizard", since it is unknown whether or not the effect will destroy two cards on your side of the field.
- "Starlight Road" cannot be Chained to "Deck Devastation Virus" if your only two monsters with <1500 ATK are face-down, or if only two monsters with <1500 ATK are in your hand.
9553: [Damage Step] Can "Starlight Road" be activated in the Damage Step?
- "Starlight Road" cannot be activated in the Damage Step.
- Example: If your opponent's "Red Dragon Archfiend" attacks a Defense Position monster while you control two or more Defense Position monsters, then when the effect of "Red Dragon Archfiend" activates after damage calculation you cannot Chain "Starlight Road".
- The Special Summon by the effect of "Starlight Road" is not treated as a Synchro Summon. Thus, if the Special Summoned "Stardust Dragon" activates its effect and Tributes itself, then during the End Phase it cannot Special Summon itself. Likewise, the Special Summoned "Stardust Dragon" cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard by effects like "Call of the Haunted".
9555: Can you activate "Starlight Road" while "Vanity's Fiend" is preventing you from Special Summoning?
- "Starlight Road" may be activated even if a card like "Vanity's Fiend" is on the field, or if there is no "Stardust Dragon" in your Extra Deck. The effect of "Starlight Road" will negate the effect which is to destroy two or more cards on your field and destroy it, but you cannot Special Summon from the Graveyard the "Stardust Dragon" which was Tributed to activate its effect. [sic]
9556: Can "Royal Oppression" be Chained to "Starlight Road"?
- "Royal Oppression" may negate the effect of "Starlight Road", even though it is unknown at activation whether or not "Starlight Road" will Special Summon "Stardust Dragon". "Royal Oppression" may negate the effect of "Starlight Road" even if "Stardust Dragon" may not be Special Summoned, such as if "Vanity's Fiend" is on the field or if there is no "Stardust Dragon" in the Extra Deck.
- When multiple monsters Summoned simultaneously and "Bottomless Trap Hole" is activated, if two or more of those monsters have 1500+ ATK, then "Bottomless Trap Hole" would destroy two or more monsters on the field, so "Starlight Road" may be Chained. However, if only one of those monsters has 1500+ ATK, then "Bottomless Trap Hole" would only destroy one monster, so "Starlight Road" cannot be activated.
- You cannot activate the effect of "Junk Collector" by removing from play the only copy of "Treacherous Trap Hole" from your Graveyard.
- When "Junk Collector" is Summoned and is the only monster on the field, you cannot activate the effect of "Junk Collector" by removing from play "Pineapple Blast" if your opponent only controls one monster.
9559: Can a second "" return to the field by the effect of "Interdimensional Matter Transporter"? Suppose you remove from play "[[:]]" with a card like "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", and then Summon another "[[:]]", all while "Skill Drain" is active. During the End Phase, even though the effect "There can only be 1 face-up "Malefic" monster on the field." of the "[[:]]" on the field is negated, that effect of the removed-from-play "[[:]]" is still active, so the removed-from-play "[[:]]" cannot return to the field. Thus, the removed-from-play "[[:]]" is sent to the Graveyard.
6X[edit]
- Suppose you control a face-up monster like "[[:]]" or "[[:]]" or "[[:]]" and another such monster which is face-down. If the face-down monster is flipped by an attack, then the flipped monster is destroyed after damage calculation by the effect of "[[:]]".
9561: Will "" be destroyed if a second Field Spell is activated?
- Suppose you control a face-up monster like "[[:]]" or "[[:]]" or "[[:]]". If you control a Field Spell Card and activate a new one, then "[[:]]" is destroyed at the same time that the previous Field Spell Card is destroyed. However, if you control a Field Spell Card and your opponent activates a new one, then "[[:]]" is not destroyed since there is always a Field Spell Card on the field.
9562: Will "" be destroyed if a second Field Spell is activated?
- Suppose you control a face-up monster like "[[:]]" or "[[:]]" or "[[:]]". If you control a Field Spell Card and activate a new one, then "[[:]]" is destroyed at the same time that the previous Field Spell Card is destroyed. However, if you control a Field Spell Card and your opponent activates a new one, then "[[:]]" is not destroyed since there is always a Field Spell Card on the field.
9563: Can you Special Summon a second "" while the effect of "Skill Drain" is active?
- If "Skill Drain" is negating the effect "There can only be 1 face-up "Malefic" monster on the field." of a monster like "[[:]]" or "[[:]]" or "[[:]]", then you still cannot Special Summon a second "[[:]]", since its effect is still active while it is in the hand.
- Suppose your opponent controls a Machine-Type monster that you own while "[[:]]" is active. If a Machine-Type monster that you own and control attacks your opponent's and both monsters are destroyed, then both monsters are sent to your Graveyard at the same time. At this time, if you activate the effect of "[[:]]", then you must declare one of those monsters and have "[[:]]" use only that monster.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
- The effect of "[[:]]" can only be activated if the destroyed monster is a Machine both when it was destroyed by battle and when it is sent to the Graveyard. Thus, you cannot activate the effect of "[[:]]" cannot be activated if the monster is not a Machine while it is face-up on the field because of "DNA Surgery", nor if the monster is not a Machine while it is in the Graveyard.
- Card Rulings:DNA Surgery, [[:Card Rulings:]]
9566: Can you Special Summon multiple monsters if there are multiple copies of "" on the field?
- If a Machine-Type monster is destroyed by battle while you control multiple copies of "[[:]]", then you can activate each copy's effect in a Chain. Each effect will resolve and Special Summon another Machine-Type monster.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
9567: "" Special Summons a monster based on the Attribute and ATK at what time?
- "[[:]]" refers to the destroyed monster's ATK and Attribute while the destroyed monster is in the Graveyard when determining which monsters may be Special Summoned from the Deck.
- Example: If "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast" with 1400 Original ATK is destroyed by battle while it is being treated as an EARTH monster by "DNA Transplant", then "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast" has 2800 ATK and is a DARK monster while in the Graveyard, so you can Special Summon a DARK Machine-Type monster with 2799 ATK or less.
- Card Rulings:DNA Transplant, Card Rulings:Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast, [[:Card Rulings:]]
9568: [Damage Step] Can the effect of "Scrap Recycler" be activated in the Damage Step?
- You can activate the effect of "Scrap Recycler" even if it is Special Summoned during the Damage Step - for example, if it is Special Summoned by the effect of "[[:]]".
- [[:Card Rulings:]], Card Rulings:Scrap Recycler
9569: Is returning cards from the Graveyard to the Deck an activation cost for "Scrap Recycler"?
- The text "return 2 Level 4 EARTH Machine-Type monsters in your Graveyard to your deck" of "Scrap Recycler" is a cost to activate its effect which draws one card.
7X[edit]
- If multiple copies of "Machina Fortress" which are face-up on your field are targeted by a single effect, then you apply each copy's effect which discards one card from your opponent's hand. Thus, if you control multiple copies of "Machina Fortress" and they are all targeted by the effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier", then when the effect resolves your opponent discards one card for each "Machina Fortress" which was targeted.
- Suppose "Machina Fortress" is targeted by an opponent's Effect Monster's effect and then "Enemy Controller" is Chained. After resolving the effect of "Enemy Controller", "Machina Fortress" is under your opponent's control, so when resolving the opponent's Effect Monster's effect "Machina Fortress" is no longer treated as "being targeted by an opponent's Effect Monster's effect". Thus, you do not apply the effect of "Machina Fortress" which discards one card from the opponent's hand.
- If "Macro Cosmos" is active, then you cannot discard "Machina Fortress" and other Machine-Type monsters to Special Summon that "Machina Fortress", since after being discarded "Machina Fortress" will be removed from play.
- Machina Fortress: Effects like "Solemn Judgment" and the effect of "Thunder King Rai-Oh" may be activated if "Machina Fortress" is Special Summoning itself by its effect, to negate the Special Summon of "Machina Fortress".
9574: Your opponent discards from his hand by the effect of "Machina Fortress" at what time? If "Machina Fortress" is targeted by an opponent's Effect Monster's effect, then you check your opponent's hand and discard one card when the opponent's Effect Monster's effect resolves, before doing anything else.
- Example: Your "Machina Fortress" is targeted by the effect of your opponent's "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier". When resolving the effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier", first, apply the effect of "Machina Fortress" and discard one card from your opponent's hand. After that, "Machina Fortress" is returned to your hand by the effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier".
9575: Can you discard "Machina Fortress" from your hand to Special Summon that same "Machina Fortress"?
- You can discard from your hand "Machina Fortress" and other Machine-Type monsters to Special Summon that "Machina Fortress" from your Graveyard. You can do this even if there is no other "Machina Fortress" in your Graveyard.
- If a monster is removed from play face-down - such as by the effect of "Different Dimension Capsule" - then it is unknown what type of card it is (Monster/Spell/Trap), so when resolving "[[:]]" you cannot return it to the Deck as a Fusion Material Monster.
- Card Rulings:Different Dimension Capsule, [[:Card Rulings:]]
- For "[[:]]", you cannot Special Summon only during the turn in which you "activate the card". Thus, if "[[:]]" was sent to the Graveyard by "Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude" and "activate the effect" of that "[[:]]", then you can Special Summon during the same turn.
- Card Rulings:Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude, [[:Card Rulings:]]
9578: If a Synchro Summon which used "Quick-Span Knight" is negated, then can you activate the effect?
- If a monster like "Quick-Span Knight" or "Beast of the Pharaoh" is used as a Synchro Material Monster but the Synchro Summon is negated by a card like "Solemn Judgment", then the effect of "Quick-Span Knight" does not activate since the Synchro Summon was not successful.
- If an effect like "Book of Moon" or "Compulsory Evacuation Device" is Chained to the effect of "Court of Justice" so that you control no Level 1 Fairy-Type monsters at resolution, then you cannot Special Summon a Fairy-Type monster from your hand.
8X[edit]
- If you Tribute Summon "Spawn Alligator" and your opponent controls it during the End Phase, then your opponent activates the effect of "Spawn Alligator", and the Tributed monster is Special Summoned to the opponent's side of the field.
- "Great Poseidon Beetle" can attack once more only if it selected a monster in Attack Position as an attack target, and that monster was not destroyed by battle.
- Example: "Final Attack Orders" is active and the opponent has a "Spirit Reaper" in face-down Defense Position. If "Great Poseidon Beetle" attacks that "Spirit Reaper", then "Great Poseidon Beetle" cannot attack once more, even though "Spirit Reaper" was changed to face-up Attack Position.
- Suppose "Beast King Barbaros" is Summoned without Tribute (1900 ATK), and then has its ATK halved by the effect of "Armored Bee" (to 950 ATK). If "Skill Drain" is activated during the same turn, then the ATK of "Beast King Barbaros" will remain at 950, the halved value it became by the effect of "Armored Bee".
- During the turn in which the effect of "Cyber Larva" activates, all Battle Damage you would receive is reduced to 0, including Battle Damage you would receive from monsters other than "Cyber Larva" battling.
9584: If a Set "Spawn Alligator" is flipped face-up, then does its effect activate during the End Phase?
- Suppose you Tribute Set "Spawn Alligator" by Tributing a Reptile-Type monster. If "Spawn Alligator" is face-up during that End Phase because it was flipped by a card effect, then its effect will activate and you will Special Summon the Tributed Reptile-Type monster.
- If "The Winged Dragon of Ra" is equipped with "Unstable Evolution", then its Original ATK is set to 1000 or 2400 by the effect of "Unstable Evolution", and then its ATK increases by its own effect. If a player's Life Point change so that the Original ATK from "Unstable Evolution" changes between 2400 and 1000, then the ATK increase by the effect of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" will be re-applied.
- Example: "The Winged Dragon of Ra" has 1000 ATK by its own effect. If its Original ATK becomes 1000 by the effect of "Unstable Evolution", then it will have a total of 2000 ATK. If your Life Points become lower than your opponent's, then the Original ATK of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" becomes 2400 and you increase its ATK by +1000, for a total of 3400 ATK.
- During the End Phase "Spawn Alligator" will Special Summon the Tributed monster if that monster was Reptile-Type while it was on the field. If you Tribute a Reptile-Type monster whose Type is being treated as something else by the effect of "DNA Surgery", then you cannot activate the effect of "Spawn Alligator" during your End Phase, even though the monster is a Reptile-Type monster while in the Graveyard.
9587: Can you activate the effect of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" if your Life Points are 100 or less?
- If you Life Points are 100 or less, then you cannot activate the ATK-increasing effect of "The Winged Dragon of Ra", since you cannot pay Life Points until they become 100.
9588: If "Shrink" is activated while the ATK of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" is increased, then what does its ATK become? "The Winged Dragon of Ra" has "?" ATK, which is treated as 0 when interacting with a resolving "Shrink".
- Example: "The Winged Dragon of Ra" has 6000 ATK by its own effect. If "Shrink" targets "The Winged Dragon of Ra", then its Original ATK of 0 is halved, and then you re-apply its ATK-increasing effect, so that its ATK becomes 6000.
- You cannot activate the effect of "Psychic Commander" or the ATK-increasing effect of a "The Winged Dragon of Ra" affected by "DNA Surgery" by instead placing a Psychic Counter on "Brain Research Lab" instead of paying Life Points.
