10000: Can you use "Proto-Cyber Dragon" as a Fusion Material for "Cyber End Dragon"?
- If "Proto-Cyber Dragon" is face-up on the field and has its name treated as "Cyber Dragon", then you can use it as a Fusion Material for "Cyber Twin Dragon" or "Cyber End Dragon".
10001: Does the ATK-increasing effect of "Majestic Red Dragon" also include modifications from Equip Cards?
- For the ATK-increasing effect of "Majestic Red Dragon", the ATK increase also includes ATK modifications from Equip Cards like "Axe of Despair" that are equipped to the targeted monster.
- Suppose that "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effect of "The Six Samurai - Yaichi". If "Majestic Star Dragon" would be destroyed, then you cannot instead apply the Continuous Effect "If this card would be destroyed, you can destroy another "Six Samurai" monster you control instead." from "The Six Samurai - Yaichi" instead.
- Suppose "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effect of "Gladiator Beast Alexander", and then battles. At the end of the Battle Phase, "Majestic Star Dragon" cannot be returned to the Main Deck because it is a Synchro Monster, so you cannot activate the effect of "Gladiator Beast Alexander" as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon". However, if "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effect of "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus" instead, then "Majestic Star Dragon" can be returned to the Extra Deck, so you can activate the effect of "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus" as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon".
- Suppose that "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effect of "Hyper Hammerhead". If "Majestic Star Dragon" is then destroyed by battle, then at the end of the Damage Step you cannot activate the effect of "Hyper Hammerhead" which returns the monster to the hand.
10005: Can you use "Majestic Star Dragon" to negate your opponent's "Majestic Star Dragon"?
- If your "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effects of your opponent's "Majestic Star Dragon", then you can activate the effect of your opponent's negated "Majestic Star Dragon" which negates a monster's effects as the effect of your own "Majestic Star Dragon".
10006: Can you gain control of a monster that is negated by "Majestic Star Dragon" and activate its effect?
- Suppose your "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effect of your opponent's "Exiled Force", and then you gain control of that "Exiled Force". You can activate the effect of "Exiled Force", but the effect will be negated.
- If "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effect of "Geomancer of the Ice Barrier" and then "Majestic Star Dragon" activates the effect of "Geomancer of the Ice Barrier", then the effect of "Geomancer of the Ice Barrier" only applied during the turn in which it was activated.
10008: If "Majestic Star Dragon" negates "Exiled Force", then can its effect be activated?
- If "Majestic Star Dragon" negates the effect of "Exiled Force", then you can activate the "destroy 1 monster on the field" effect of "Exiled Force" as the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon".
- You can activate the effect of "Majestic Star Dragon" which negates the activation of an effect and destroys all cards on your opponent's side of the field even if there are no cards on your opponent's side of the field.
1X[edit]
10010: If the effect of "Hero Mask" changes the name of "The Wicked Avatar", then what does its ATK become?
- If you use "Hero Mask" to change the name of "The Wicked Avatar" to that of an "Elemental Hero" monster, then "The Wicked Avatar" does not consider itself when determining its ATK, so its ATK becomes 100 + that of the other monster on the field with the highest ATK.
- If an Insect-Type monster is destroyed by battle, then you cannot activate the effect of "Verdant Sanctuary" if the Insect-Type monster was not face-up on the field and selected as an attack target. Thus, if an Insect-Type monster is face-down on the field is attacked and destroyed by battle, then you cannot activate the effect of "Verdant Sanctuary".
10012: Can the effect of "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus" be activated during the Damage Step?
- If "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus" is Special Summoned during the Damage Step, then you can activate its effect which destroys up to two cards.
- Suppose the name of "Elemental Hero Prisma" is changed to "Elemental Hero Neos" by its effect, and then it and a WATER monster are used as Fusion Materials to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero". Afterwards, if "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" is targeted by "De-Fusion", then you can Special Summon that "Elemental Hero Prisma" which was used as a Fusion Material, even though the name of "Elemental Hero Prisma" returned to its original name when it was sent to the Graveyard.
10014: Can "Embodiment of Apophis" be returned to the hand as an activation cost for ""?
- If you have the Trap Card "Embodiment of Apophis" being treated as a Monster Card and in your Monster Card Zone, then you can return it to the hand as a cost to activate the effect of "[[:]]".
[[:Card Rulings:]], Card Rulings:Embodiment of Apophis
- If "Stardust Dragon" and "Ally of Justice Catastor" battle, then you can use the effect of "Stardust Dragon" to negate the activation of "Ally of Justice Catastor"'s effect and destroy it.
- After "Blizzard Princess" is Normal Summoned, its effect that prevents your opponent from activating Spell and Trap Cards is still applied even if "Blizzard Princess" is no longer face-up on the field.
- If you Tribute Summon "The Tyrant Neptune" and it gains the effects of "Blizzard Princess", then the effect "your opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap Cards" of "Blizzard Princess" is not applied, so your opponent can activate Spell and Trap Cards.
- If "[[:]]" is not in the Graveyard when its effect resolves - for example, if "D.D. Crow" was Chained to the effect - then you can still destroy the card. Also, if "[[:]]" is in the hand or Deck when its effect resolves, then you can still destroy the card.
- Card Rulings:D.D. Crow, [[:Card Rulings:]]
- Suppose that "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" is sent to the Graveyard or is removed from play, and that its effect activates. "Starlight Road" can be Chained to negate the effect, but "Starlight Road" cannot destroy "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero", so afterwards you cannot Special Summon "Stardust Dragon".
2X[edit]
- If a monster like "Scrap Goblin" or "Scrap Beast" is selected as an attack target and the attacking monster is then no longer face-up on the field - for example, "Sakuretsu Armor" or "Book of Moon" was activated - then "Scrap Goblin" is still destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase.
10021: If a monster like "Scrap Dragon" is destroyed while face-down, then does its effect activate?
- You can activate the effect of a monster like "Scrap Dragon" or "Voltic Bicorn" even if it is destroyed while face-down by an effect like that of "Raigeki Break".
10022: Does "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" or "" negate the effect?
- Suppose "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" and "[[:]]" are both face-up on the field, and a player Tribute Summons "Caius the Shadow Monarch". If both players have the same number of cards in their hands when resolving the effect of "Caius the Shadow Monarch", then the turn player's effect negates the effect of "Caius the Shadow Monarch". Or, if the same player controls both "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" and "[[:]]", then that player chooses which effect negates the effect of "Caius the Shadow Monarch".
- Card Rulings:Caius the Shadow Monarch, Card Rulings:Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror, [[:Card Rulings:]]
10023: Can "Starlight Road" negate the effect of "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" and destroy it?
- Suppose that "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" is returned from the field to the Extra Deck and its effect activates. If you Chain "Starlight Road" to the effect, then the effect is negated and the "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" in the Extra Deck is destroyed. Also, you can then use the effect of "Starlight Road" to Special Summon "Stardust Dragon".
10024: An effect like that of "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" is applied for how long during the End Phase?
- For the effect of a monster like "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" or "Phantom of Chaos" or "Hundred-Eyes Dragon" or "Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste", you choose the time during the End Phase that you stop applying the effect. The effect does not last until the end of the turn.
10025: During the End Phase, does drawing by the effect of "Super Rejuvenation" start a Chain Link?
- Drawing a card(s) by the effect of "Super Rejuvenation" does not start a Chain Link.
- If you draw multiple cards by the effect of "Super Rejuvenation", then all cards are drawn by the same effect resolution. You cannot split up the effect and draw multiple times.
- If you draw multiple cards by the effect of "Super Rejuvenation", then you only gain 500 Life Points by the effect of "Solemn Wishes".
- If you have already applied the effect of "Super Rejuvenation" during this End Phase and then you discard cards for hand size limit, then you cannot draw more cards for "Super Rejuvenation", even if you discarded Dragon-Type monster. However, if you discard Dragon-Type monsters for hand size limit during the End Phase and it is possible for you to apply the effect of "Super Rejuvenation", then you can draw cards.
- Suppose that you already drew cards for the effect of "Super Rejuvenation", and afterwards you discard or Tribute more Dragon-Type monsters. You already drew cards for the effect of "Super Rejuvenation" during the End Phase, so you cannot apply the effect a second time to draw more cards during the same End Phase.
3X[edit]
- If "Broww, Huntsman of Dark World" is not in the Graveyard when its effect is resolving - for example, "D.D. Crow" was Chained - then you can still draw a card(s) from your Deck. Also, if a monster like "Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World" is discarded by a card effect, then if "Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World" is not in the Graveyard when resolving its effect, then it cannot be Special Summoned.
10031: If you discard "" in the middle of a Chain, then its effect activates at what time?
- Suppose that "Royal Oppression" is activated when "Dark Armed Dragon" is to be Special Summoned, and then "Raigeki Break" is Chained by discarding "[[:]]" as a cost, to destroy "Royal Oppression". In this case, the effect of "[[:]]" activates when "Dark Armed Dragon" is successfully Special Summoned. Moreover, the effect of "[[:]]" activates when "Dark Armed Dragon" is Special Summoned, so the Ignition Effect of "Dark Armed Dragon" cannot be activated at this time.
- Card Rulings:Dark Armed Dragon, Card Rulings:Raigeki Break, Card Rulings:Royal Oppression, [[:Card Rulings:]]
10032: Can "Miracle Synchro Fusion" Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero"?
- "Miracle Synchro Fusion" cannot Fusion Summon a Fusion Monster unless that Fusion Monster lists a Synchro Monster as a Fusion Material. Thus, you cannot use "Miracle Synchro Fusion" to Fusion Summon "Five-Headed Dragon" nor "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero", even if you are using a Synchro Monster as a Fusion Material. "Miracle Synchro Fusion" can only Fusion Summon Fusion Monsters such as "Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste" or "Naturia Exterio".
- The effect of a monster like "Scrap Dragon" or "Voltic Bicorn" cannot be activated unless it is under the control of its original owner when it is destroyed. Thus, if a "Voltic Bicorn" that you own is destroyed while on your opponent's side of the field, then you cannot activate its effect.
- If "[[:]]" is sent from the field to the Graveyard during the Damage Step, then you can activate its effect which equips it to a monster that is face-up on your opponent's side of the field.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
10035: Can you activate the effect of "Darklord Superbia" if it is Special Summoned during the Damage Step?
- If "Darklord Superbia" is Special Summoned during the Damage Step, then you can activate its effect which Special Summons a Fairy-Type monster from your Graveyard.
10036: Can "" be activated and equipped to a monster during the Damage Step?
- You can activate "[[:]]" during the Damage Step, before damage calculation.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
- The effect of "Light of Destruction" will activate if a card(s) are sent from the Deck to the Graveyard during the Damage Step - for example, if the effect of "Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter" activates during the Damage Step.
10038: Can you activate "At One With the Sword" and equip it to a monster during the Damage Step?
- You can activate "At One With the Sword" during the Damage Step, before damage calculation. Also, if you equip "At One With the Sword" to a monster before damage calculation and that monster destroys the opponent's monster by battle, then you can also apply the card-drawing effect.
- If "Vylon Material" is sent from the field to the Graveyard during the Damage Step, then you can activate its effect which adds a "Vairon" Spell Card to your hand.
4X[edit]
10040: When you Normal Summon, Flip Summon, or Special Summon a monster, can you activate the effect of ""?
- When the Turn Player Normal Summons, Flip Summons, or Special Summons a monster, the Turn Player cannot first activate the Ignition Effect of a monster in his hand (like "Thunder Dragon" or "[[:]]") nor the Ignition Effect of a monster in his Graveyard (like "Plaguespreader Zombie" or "Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor").
- When resolving the effect of a removed-from-play "Drill Warrior" which Special Summons it, you can Special Summon "Drill Warrior" even if there are no monsters in your Graveyard. However, after Special Summoning "Drill Warrior" you cannot resolve the effect which adds a card from your Graveyard to your hand, so cards like "Bottomless Trap Hole" may be activated.
- The resolution of "Drill Warrior" which removes it from play and the resolution which has you discard one card from your hand are considered to occur simultaneously. Thus, if you discard "Jinzo - Returner" with this effect, then you can Special Summon "Jinzo" from the Graveyard.
- When resolving the "you can discard 1 card and remove this card from play" effect of "Drill Warrior", if you cannot discard from your hand - for example, you Chained "Full Salvo" - then you cannot remove from play "Drill Warrior". However, when resolving that effect, if "Drill Warrior" cannot be removed from play - for example, "Imperial Iron Wall" was Chained - then you still discard one card from your hand.
- If the activation of the effect of "Drill Warrior" which Special Summons it during the Standby Phase is negated by the effect of "Light and Darkness Dragon", then you cannot activate that effect of that "Drill Warrior" a second time during the same Standby Phase. Thus, "Drill Warrior" remains removed from play.
- When resolving the effect of "Dragunity Knight - Barcha", if some of the targeted Dragon-Type monsters are no longer in the Graveyard, then the remaining Dragon-Type monsters are still equipped to "Dragunity Knight - Barcha".
- If "Dragunity Knight - Vajrayana" is equipped with an Equip Card that is originally owned by your opponent, then you can send that Equip Card to your opponent's Graveyard to activate the effect of "Dragunity Knight - Vajrayana" which doubles its ATK.
- When resolving the effect of "Dragunity Knight - Trident", if the number of cards in your opponent's Extra Deck is less than the number of cards you sent to the Graveyard as an activation cost, then you cannot send any cards from your opponent's Extra Deck to the Graveyard.
- When resolving the effect of "Dragunity Knight - Gae Dearg", you first perform the resolution where you add one monster from your Deck to your hand, and afterwards you perform the resolution where you discard one monster. The two are not resolved simultaneously.
10049: Must the monster discarded by the effect of "Dragunity Knight - Gae Dearg" be Level 4 or less?
- The Dragon- or Winged Beast-Type monster discarding when resolving the effect of "Dragunity Knight - Gae Dearg" does not have to be Level 4 or lower. You can discard a Level 5+ Dragon- or Winged Beast-Type monster.
5X[edit]
10050: Can you Special Summon a Synchro Monster by the effect of "Dragunity Militum"?
- Suppose that you have a "Dragunity" Synchro Monster in your Spell & Trap Card Zone. If that monster was properly Synchro Summoned previously, then you can use the effect of "Dragunity Militum to Special Summon it to the field.
10051: Can you activate the effect of "Dragunity Militum" and target a face-down "Dragunity"?
- For the effect of "Dragunity Militum", you cannot select and Special Summon a "Dragunity" monster which is face-down in your Spell & Trap Card Zone.
- Suppose that "Dragunity Partisan" or "Dragunity Pilum" is successfully Normal Summoned and its effect activates. If "Dragunity Partisan" is face-down when its effect is resolving, then you can still Special Summon a Winged Beast-Type "Dragunity" monster from your hand. However, you cannot equip the face-down "Dragunity Partisan" to that monster.
- Suppose that "Dragunity Partisan" or "Dragunity Pilum" is successfully Normal Summoned and its effect activates, and your opponent Chains an effect like "Enemy Controller" so that your opponent controls "Dragunity Partisan" when its effect resolves. Then, you will still Special Summon a Winged Beast-Type monster from your hand, but you cannot equip "Dragunity Partisan" to that monster.
10054: Does the "add to your hand" effect of "Dragunity Corsesca" start a Chain Link?
- If "Dragunity Corsesca" is equipped to a monster by a card's effect and the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, then the effect of "Dragunity Corsesca" activates and starts a Chain Link when the opponent's monster is sent to the Graveyard.
10055: Can you transfer "Dragunity Javelin" with "Tailor of the Fickle"?
- If "Dragunity Javelin" is equipped to a Winged Beast-Type "Dragunity" monster by its effect, then that Winged Beast-Type monster is the original correct target for "Dragunity Javelin", so you cannot activate "Tailor of the Fickle" by targeting "Dragunity Javelin".
- If a monster is equipped with "Metalsilver Armor" when resolving the effect of "Dragunity Javelin", then you cannot choose to equip "Dragunity Javelin" to a monster other than the monster equipped with "Metalsilver Armor".
- Suppose that the effect of "Dragunity Primus Pilus" resolves properly and equips a Winged Beast-Type "Dragunity" monster with a Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster. If the effect of "Skill Drain" is applied, then the Dragon-Type monster remains equipped to the Winged Beast-Type monster.
- If the targeted monster is on your opponent's side of the field when resolving the effect of "Dragunity Primus Pilus", then you still select a Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster from your Deck and equip it to that monster.
- Dragunity Primus Pilus: Suppose that "DNA Surgery" is active and declaring Winged Beast, and that "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" has its name changed to something like "Dragunity Dux". In this case, you may use the effect of "Dragunity Primus Pilus" to equip "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" with a Dragon-Type monster. Furthermore, the Dragon-Type monster remains equipped to "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" even after the name of "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther" returns to "Neo-Spacian Dark Panther".
6X[edit]
- Suppose that "Dragunity Phalanx" Special Summons itself from being treated as an Equip Card, and then during the same turn it is removed from the field (for example, send to the Graveyard) and becomes an Equip Card again. In this case, you can activate the effect of "Dragunity Phalanx" a second time, and Special Summon it again.
- The effect of "Dragunity Phalanx" which Special Summons it while it is treated as an Equip Card is activated as the effect of an Equip Spell Card. Thus, if "Imperial Order" is active, then the effect is negated and "Dragunity Phalanx" is not Special Summoned.
- When resolving the effect of "Dragunity Dux", if the targeted Dragon-Type monster is no longer in the Graveyard, then that monster is not equipped.
- Suppose that the effect of a monster like "Dragunity Dux" or "Dragunity Legionnaire" has its effect resolve and it equips itself with a Level 3 or lower "Dragunity" monster. If the effect of "Skill Drain" is then applied, then "Dragunity Dux" can no longer be equipped with a monster by its own effect, so the Level 3 or lower "Dragunity" monster equipped to it is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard.
10064: Spell Card >
10065: Spell Card >
- The effects of "[[:]]" do not target.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
10066: Effect Monster > Dragunity Aklys
- "Dragunity Aklys" is equipped to the "Dragunity" that you Special Summon from your hand; the Special Summoned "Dragunity" monster is not equipped to "Dragunity Aklys".
10067: Effect Monster > Dragunity Arma Mystletainn
- "Dragunity Arma Mystletainn" is a Normal Summon monster.
- The effect of "Dragunity Arma Mystletainn" targets one Dragon-Type monster in your Graveyard.
10068: Effect Monster > Dragunity Arma Leyvaten
- "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is a Normal Summon monster.
- Both the effect of "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" which equips a Dragon-Type monster to it and the effect which Special Summons a Dragon-Type monster equipped to it target.
- You can activate the effect of "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" which Special Summons a Dragon-Type monster equipped to it during the Damage Step.
- You can use "[[:]]" to equip a "Dragunity" monster to another monster even if that other monster does not have an effect that equips a monster to it, such as "Dragunity Tribus".
- [[:Card Rulings:]], Card Rulings:Dragunity Tribus
7X[edit]
- If a monster like "Destiny Hero - Plasma" or "Relinquished" is already equipped with a monster by its own effect, then you can still use "[[:]]" to equip it with a Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster.
- Card Rulings:Destiny HERO - Plasma, [[:Card Rulings:]], Card Rulings:Relinquished
- When resolving the effect of "[[:]]", if the targeted monster is not face-up on the field, then you do not apply the effect which equips a Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster to that monster. The Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster in your hand remains in the hand.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
10072: Does the effect of "" which equips a "Dragunity" card start a Chain Link?
- The effect of "[[:]]" which equips a monster on your side of the field with a Dragon-Type "Dragunity" monster activates and starts a Chain Link by targeting the one monster on your side of that will be equipped.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
10073: The effects of "" can be activated by which players?
- Only the player that controls "[[:]]" can activate its effects. Thus, if you have "[[:]]" in your Field Card Zone, then only you can activate the effects of "[[:]]", and your opponent cannot activate its effects.
- [[:Card Rulings:]]
- You cannot Special Summon "Dragunity Arma Mystletainn" by sending to the Graveyard a "Dragunity" monster that is not being treated as a Monster Card, such as if it is being treated as an Equip Card.
10075: Can you use a "Dragunity Aklys" treated as an Equip Card as a Synchro Material?
- If a monster is not being treated as a monster and in the Monster Card Zone, then you cannot use it as a Synchro Material, even if it is a Tuner.
- Example: Suppose that you successfully Normal Summon "Dragunity Aklys", and activate its effect to Special Summon "Dragunity Arma Mystletainn" and equip "Dragunity Aklys" to it. You cannot use the equipped "Dragunity Aklys" as a Synchro Material, so you cannot send "Dragunity Arma Mystletainn" and the equipped "Dragunity Aklys" to the Graveyard as Synchro Materials to Synchro Summon "Stardust Dragon".
- If a monster like "Destiny Hero - Plasma" or "Relinquished" is equipped with a "Dragunity" monster, then you can remove it from play to Special Summon "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" from your hand or Graveyard.
- If you remove from play a monster equipped with "Dragunity Aklys" to Special Summon "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten", then "Dragunity Aklys" was not sent to the Graveyard while equipped to a monster, so only the effect of "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" activates.
- Past translation:
- Suppose that you remove from play a monster equipped with "Dragunity Aklys" to Special Summon "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" from your hand or Graveyard. The equipped "Dragunity Aklys" is not removed from play and is send to the Graveyard, so its Trigger Effect activates when "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is successfully Special Summoned. Thus, the effects of both "Dragunity Aklys" and "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" activate, with the mandatory effect of "Dragunity Aklys" as Chain Link 1 and the optional effect of "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" as Chain Link 2.
- Card Rulings:Dragunity Aklys, Card Rulings:Dragunity Arma Leyvaten
- Past translation:
- If "Light and Darkness Dragon" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard while it is being treated as an Equip Card, then you can activate its effect.
- Suppose that you have "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is equipped with "Light and Darkness Dragon", and "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is destroyed by an opponent's card's effect. "Light and Darkness Dragon" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, so its effect activates, and you can Special Summon the "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" that is in your Graveyard. Furthermore, the effect of "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" activates, and you can treat that "Light and Darkness Dragon" in your Graveyard as an Equip Card.
- Suppose that your "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is equipped with a monster originally owned by your opponent. If "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is destroyed by an opponent's card effect, then you may Special Summon the equipped monster from your opponent's Graveyard.
- Example: "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" attacks an opponent's face-down "Blast Sphere", and "Blast Sphere" is equipped to "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten". During the Standby Phase after your opponent's turn, "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is destroyed by the effect of "Blast Sphere", and "Blast Sphere" is sent to your opponent's Graveyard. Here, you can use the effect of "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" to Special Summon the "Blast Sphere" from your opponent's Graveyard.
8X[edit]
10080: Can you Special Summon even if the card equipped to "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is removed from play?
- The effect of "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" which Special Summons a monster equipped to it can only Special Summon a monster that was sent to the Graveyard, and can only Special Summon the monster from the Graveyard. Thus, if "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by an opponent's card effect but a monster equipped to it is removed from play, then you cannot Special Summon the removed-from-play monster.
- If a "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" equipped with a monster is destroyed during the Damage Step by an opponent's card effect, then you can activate the effect of "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" which Special Summons the equipped monster to the field.
- You cannot Special Summon "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" from your hand by removing from play an opponent's monster, even if it is equipped with your own "Dragunity" monster. However, you can Special Summon "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten" from your hand by removing from play a monster from your side of the field that is equipped with an opponent's "Dragunity" monster.
- If a Warrior-Type monster cannot be equipped with an Equip Spell Card, then you cannot use the effect of "Gilford the Legend" to equip that monster with that card. Thus, you cannot use the effect of "Gilford the Legend" to equip a monster with an Equip Spell Card like "Premature Burial" or "Snatch Steal".
- If a monster has its ATK and DEF switched by "Ojama Country" and is then affected by "Inverse Universe", then its ATK and DEF are switched again. Afterwards, if "Ojama Country" is removed from the field or if there are no longer any face-up "Ojama" monsters on the field, then the ATK and DEF switched by "Inverse Universe" do not change.
- If the activation of a Spell Card is negated - such as with "Magic Jammer" - while "Dark Eradicator Warlock" is face-up on the field, then the effect of "Dark Eradicator Warlock" does not inflict damage to the opponent.
10086: If "Drillroid" attacks a face-down "Ancient Lamp", then how do you resolve the effects?
- If "Drillroid" attacks a face-down "Ancient Lamp", then the effect of "Drillroid" activates as the first link in the Chain, and then the effect of "Ancient Lamp" activates. Resolving backwards, you first resolve the effect of "Ancient Lamp". The effect of "Ancient Lamp" makes you perform damage calculation, so the effect of "Drillroid" cannot destroy "Ancient Lamp".
- The halved ATK by the effect of "Shrink" is not treated as the monster's Original ATK. Thus, when your opponent Normal Summons or Flip Summons a monster, if you activate "Cloning" and then "Shrink" is Chained and targets the Summoned monster, then the ATK of the "Clone Token" is equal to the printed Original ATK of the opponent's monster.
- If a monster is equipped to a monster like "Relinquished" as an Equip Card, then the monster is not treated as a Monster Card. Thus, you cannot Special Summon "Exxod, Master of The Guard" by Tributing a "Sphinx" monster that is being treated as an Equip Card and is equipped to another monster.
- When resolving "Dark Fusion", you can use a card like "King of the Swamp" as a substitute Fusion Material. However, if you are Fusion Summoning a Fusion Monster like "Evil Hero Dark Gaia" which does not specifically name cards (it specifies "1 Fiend-Type monster + 1 Rock-Type monster"), or a monster like "Dark Balter the Terrible" with the text "A Fusion Summon of this monster can only be conducted with the above Fusion Material Monsters", then you cannot use a monster like "King of the Swamp".
9X[edit]
10090: Can you activate "Castle Walls" in the Damage Step to increase DEF?
- If you attack an opponent's face-down monster and it is flipped face-up by battle, then you can activate cards like "Castle Walls" or "Reinforcements" before damage calculation.
- You can use the effect of "Mausoleum of the Emperor" to Normal Summon or Set monsters like "Simorgh, Bird of Divinity" or "Diabolos, King of the Abyss" from your hand, without Tributing monsters.
10092: Do the ATK and DEF of "Harpie's Pet Dragon" increase while there is a "Cyber Harpie Lady"?
- The card name of "Cyber Harpie Lady" is treated as "Harpie Lady". Thus, if "Cyber Harpie Lady" and "Harpie's Pet Dragon" are on the field, then the effect of "Harpie's Pet Dragon" will increase its ATK.
10093: If cards like "Cyber Harpie Lady" and "Harpie Queen" are in the Graveyard, then can you activate "Symbol of Heritage"? The card name of "Harpie Queen" is treated as "Harpie Lady" while "Harpie Queen" is in the Graveyard, and the card names of "Cyber Harpie Lady" and "Harpie Lady 1" are treated as "Harpie Lady". Thus, if one copy each of "Harpie Queen", "Cyber Harpie Lady", and "Harpie Lady 1" are in the Graveyard, then you can use "Symbol of Heritage" to Special Summon one of them.
- Suppose that you have a Field Spell Card like "Mountain" active. If your opponent activates a new Field Spell Card, then your "Mountain" is not destroyed when your opponent's Field Spell Card is activated; your "Mountain" is destroyed when your opponent's Field Spell Card resolves. Thus, if you Chain "Solemn Judgment" to negate the activation of your opponent's Field Spell Card, then your "Mountain" is not destroyed when your opponent's Field Spell Card resolves.
10095: Can you Chain a second "Treasure Map" to the activation of a "Treasure Map"?
- "Treasure Map" can only activated directly in Chain to the effect which will return it to the hand. Thus, if you activate "Giant Trunade" while both players have a "Treasure Map" Set on the field and your opponent Chains his copy of "Treasure Map", then you cannot activate your own copy of "Treasure Map".
- If the activation of "Sword of Deep-Seated" is negated and it is sent to the Graveyard by an effect like "Magic Jammer", then "Sword of Deep-Seated" was still sent to the Graveyard, so its effect activates and it is returned to the top of the Deck.
- When resolving the effect of "Tree Otter", if there are no longer any Beast-Type monsters other than "Tree Otter", then you do not increase the ATK of the selected monster by 1000.
- If you activate "Future Fusion" but then your second Standby Phase is skipped by "Solomon's Lawbook", then you cannot Special Summon the Fusion monster during a subsequent Standby Phase.
- If "Enraged Muka Muka" or "Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon" has its ATK halved by the effect of "Black Garden", then afterwards the monster's ATK does not change, even if the number of cards in your hand or the contents of the Graveyard change.
- Example: If you have five cards in your hand and you Summon "Enraged Muka Muka", then the effect of "Black Garden" halves its ATK from 3200 to 1600. If there are two Dragon-Type monsters in your Graveyard and you Summon "Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon", then the effect of "Black Garden" halves its ATK from 3000 to 1500.
