Sets release dates

As you know, Duel Terminal and Collectible tins do not release in one specific date as it come in 2 or 3 waves in differents dates. What can we do now? Can you add a second space for wave two date, or we must create another page for wave 2? --Dlamash (talkcontribs) 06:39, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

We don't actually have a completely set policy for how to handle these; it's my opinion that we should have a separate article for each release that has its own page on the official database (that is, that has its own "pid" value in the URL), and I think this opinion is more-or-less shared with Deltaneos, but it hasn't actually been discussed on-wiki. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:08, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

Junk Warrior Anime Effect

Hi, its me Shiv again. Um, can you please tell me how to write an anime effect of an card. Like in real life Junk Warrior special effect is:

When this card is Synchro Summoned it gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all level 2 and lower monsters you control".

But in the cartoon it is more like:

This card gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all level 2 and lower monsters you control
(122.149.212.217 (talk) 13:41, June 8, 2013 (UTC))

Yes, "Junk Warrior" has a continuous effect while in the Anime version (Cartoon) - therefore whenever Level 2 or lower monsters have entering and leaving the field, "Junk Warrior" gain and lose the difference, respective. --iFredCat 13:44, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
If the effect is shown in the anime, it's simple: write the effect exactly as shown (or rather, since it'd be in Japanese, find someone able to transcribe and translate it for you). We document shown anime effects exactly as they are, without polishing or editing them to make them more understandable from gameplay perspectives or whatever (though pretty much any anime effect after Duel Monsters should be reasonably understandable in those contexts).
If the effect isn't shown, however, I can't offer much advice since I don't actually do much with them; you might instead want to ask Cheesedude, who should either be able to tell you directly himself, or point to someone else who can. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:38, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Ruby

Why does a yellow exclamation mark signal appears due to the Japanese Ruby on Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - Ride 043 and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - Ride 046, for example? Am I doing something wrong? LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 15:48, June 12, 2013 (UTC)

It's because the Japanese name support in {{Infobox/Yu-Gi-Oh!/Chapter}} is horribly designed (though to be completely fair, the whole thing predates any of the {{Ruby}} template system). The infobox will eventually be replaced with a new {{Infobox chapter}} template, but in the meantime, you can add Ruby chapter names like so. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 01:45, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

Auto-Welcome

It appears that the auto-welcome bot is broken. {{SUBST:User:-TARDIS-/Sig|15:24,6/13/2013}} 15:24, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

That's a known issue which has appeared on Community Central recently; staff are looking into it. In the meantime, feel free to remove the extra welcome messages. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:03, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

Card type and Name in Card Errata

Can you make card type and name doesn't appear on all card's errata if the next errata doesn't have any change in name or card type? What I want is to hide the card type on the Second and Third Errata in The A. Forces's card errata page. --Dlamash (talkcontribs) 19:08, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

The card type can't be hidden on the second erratum in that case because it changes between the original print and the first erratum, and something has to be shown to "finish out" the row and ensure the table is constructed properly. Instead, the text being grayed out is meant to show that there was no change. However, in the particular case of card types, the images don't get grayed out, which is somewhat confusing for readers; I've thought about applying opacity to make them look grayed out but haven't actually done anything towards it yet.
As for the card type in the third erratum (and, more generally, info presented in rows not because it changes in one of the three errata in that row, but because it changes in another erratum (if that makes any sense)), I've also had the thought of not displaying the row in such cases, but again, haven't done anything towards it yet.
I don't have the time to work on either of these right now, but I might be able to later today. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 20:59, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think those are required to be "hidden" - they're just there as coded. Also, I fixed all del/ins part as well as bold/italic, updated it to current looks. Hope that relaxing your stressful in the temple. --iFredCat 21:10, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

Missed Granmarg in the list

A full list in Unearthing of the Monarchs Tip Article - is that such to be "late updating" or something? The second Granmarg has ATK/DEF of 2800/1000 that matched the requirement but... it's not there. --iFredCat 16:11, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Looks like a cache issue, yes. I've tried null-editing a bunch of stuff, but that hasn't fixed it, so unless someone else has another idea on how to fix it, all we can do is wait and hope it'll show up on its own. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:44, June 17, 2013 (UTC)
That's what I thought. That's a "late updating" stuff. At least we can wait until then. --iFredCat 22:02, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Gate Guardian

I noticed in a card errata page that the DB seems to count as an errata change. Then I noticed that the DB Gate Guardian page matched the original MRD text, and not the LC01 reprint. So the question is, does this count as another errata for Gate Guardian?184.96.217.50 (talk) 16:39, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

I think this is actually a case of oversight; in this case it's probably best to go with the printed card and wait to see if it ever gets a PSCT reprint. In the meantime, we could note on Card Errata:Gate Guardian that the DB uses the original lore (though I'm not sure how, or if we do actually want to do so). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 05:29, June 26, 2013 (UTC)

Attribute no appear!

This article only showed the Attribute in original lore and first errata lore, but it don't show in the second errata - can you mind reupdated the template a little bit to make it workable? --iFredCat 13:06, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

I'm aware of that, and am working on a fix as we speak. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 13:08, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Great, was about to tell ya that it's still not showing up. And the guy who fired an arrow in my knee still didn't stick to his word - he still deleted those space and slash, even if they're old articles. --iFredCat 13:18, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Everything should be working properly now. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 13:24, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Yup, working like a charm! --iFredCat 13:25, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Oddly Code

I am still not quite understand how those Exodia Pieces have their information within the same row as their own line... in a Forum of "Reason why those cards are forbidden/limited". Is there an exact of special code to make them be separate but in same row as single box? I am writing the new article that tutoring the n00b (included Energy X, who messed up the article I had worked on earlier) how to soothing the way of Erratum articles - since I am only one kept up with the dates of your and Delta's.

But only that I am having a problem with this reason - it's a table conflict. Here's an example:

<table> <td style="width:60em" valign="top"> {| class=wikitable style="width:100%" ! Card Name ! Original Effect Text | First Erratum |- | [[4-Starred Ladybug of Doom]] | FLIP: '''Destroys''' all face-up Level 4 monsters on your opponent's side of the field. | FLIP: '''Destroy''' all face-up Level 4 monsters on your opponent's side of the field. |} </table>
And it didn't processed as I wanted it to be. Just open and take a look in, you will know what I meant... such as one "4-Starred Ladybug of Doom" box and 2 "Effect Text" boxes, but both Effect Text are such to be in same pattern as the single "4-Starred Ladybug of Doom". This was the messy result I kept getting. --iFredCat 17:05, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Aah, you're talking about merging cells. This is done with the rowspan and colspan attributes. For instance, for rows:
This cell is merged across rows Some data or something
More text or whatever
And for columns:
This cell is merged across columns
Some data or something More text or whatever
Using rowspans and colspans can be a bit tricky, though, since you have to keep track of what cells are actually there and what cells are there as part of a merged cell (especially when you're dealing with multiple merged cells in the same table). I'd suggest playing around with it in a sandbox page for a while until you start to get the hang of it, and you can also look up tutorials - there's a *lot* of information out there on working with merged cells. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:30, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
I was looking at Row part, but yea, that's what I needed. Thank you. --iFredCat 22:40, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
And also, I forgot how to mark the background color yellow instead of word - like Insert color, but... what was that kind of code again? Not for box, but as highlight behind the word... (Kind like BEKD's signature - red names but with black highlight...) --iFredCat 22:52, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
You're talking about color codes, right? For instance, this has a yellow background. This is a subject that would take way too much to properly explain, though, so in this case I have to recommend looking around for tutorials; there are loads of them. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 23:11, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Again, thank you - I will look through them later on, as I am in middle of mult-task right now. Just had to do some quick works. --iFredCat 23:16, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Annnnd thar she blew! What do you think? --iFredCat 23:18, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Looks pretty good, though I'm not sure I'd use Grand Mole as an example of deletion (I would argue that the phrase "attacks or is attacked by" is changed to "battles with", instead of saying one or more particular words in the phrase are changed and the rest is deleted). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 23:30, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
I also not arguing with what you're thinking - If you want me to put in a better example for "Delete" Formula, feel free give me one and I can go ahead and change. --iFredCat 23:45, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
The first erratum on Card Errata:Spiritual Water Art - Aoi looks like a good example. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:09, June 30, 2013 (UTC)

Just to let you know, I updated the final step in that article I showed. I sorta threw in two examples that I previously built and corrected, recently. I hope that they can help the newbs to understand how the Erratum Articles running in this way we liked them to be. At least I finally learned to listening to your advises by not using Underline anymore. --iFredCat 14:12, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
