At the American Duel Academy, the employer's past is revealed. He lived 3000 years ago in Egypt and was a resident of Kul Elna. Hearing of the his village's slaughter to create the Millennium Items, he creates a powerful Ka, Tragoedia and merges with it. He is brought before three of the Phaorah's priests (who appear to be Seto, Karim and Aknadin), who measure his sins on the Millennium Scale, by having a Winged Kuriboh spirit absorb Tragoedia's heart. The man's sins are so great that Winged Kuriboh's color darkens, from it's original white, to the brown that is seen in the present. The Feather of Ma'at is placed on the other end of scale.
Tragoedia attempts to kill the priests, and wishes to take revenge on all of his Egypt. The Tragoedia then attempts to retake its heart back from the spirit. To prevent this, the Winged Kuriboh spirit absorbs the Feather of Ma'at and Tragoeida finds he can not touch Winged Kuribohthe spirit due to the Feather. The priests manage to seal Tragoedia in a tablet, and vow not to alert the Pharaoh. It was earlier shown that Chazz's "Light and Darkness Dragon" card was altered by Koyo's "Winged Kuriboh." It would appear that the Feather of Ma'at was placed into that card, giving "Light and Darkness Dragon" the ability to resist Tragoedia.
Back at Duel Academy, Chancellor Sheppard announces that the final duel of the tournament will now begin. He reveals that the match will take place on Duel Academy's roof, in an arena based off of that used at the Duel Tower in the Battle City tournament. It's revealed that under normal circumstances, only the top two graduating students each year are permitted to duel there.
