Both characters have been born human, having red hair, but later by a turn of events become "[http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Infested_terran infested]/[[:Lswarm|infected]]" by a "[http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Zerg swarm]" of [[:Evilswarm|insect]]-like creatures.
