Since he controls "Dark Magician", Yugi activates "Thousand Knives" to destroy "Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon". Kaiba activates the effect of "Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon" in response, Tributing it to Special Summon a different LIGHT Dragon-Type Synchro Monster from his Extra Deck in Defense Position, but it will be destroyed during the End Phase. Kaiba Special Summons "[[Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon]]" (2500/3000) from his Extra Deck in Defense Position, but it will be destroyed during the End Phase. Since "Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon" was Special Summoned, its effect activates, preventing all Dragon-Type monsters that Kaiba currently controls from being targeted or destroyed by card effects until the end of the next turn, which also protects it from the effect of "Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon".
Since Yugi activated a Spell Card, the effect of "Magician of Dark Illusion" activates, allowing Yugi to Special Summon "Dark Magician" from his Graveyard in Attack Position.
