- Skuld, in Norse mythology is one of the three Norns, along with Urd and Verandi. Her name means "necessity".
- Skuld is a Goddess who weaves the future, which explains her ability to look into opponent's deck.
- She is also a character in Der Ring des Nibelungen, written by Richard Wagner.
