* The opening shot of the episode (not including the opening in the Japanese version), which shows a clear shot of the sun mirrors the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! - Episode 224|closing shot]] of the previous series. This can be for either one as the English closing shot (which is the last shot before the credits in Japanese version) shows a similar view of the sun from Egypt and as the Japanese closing shot shows Yugi and his friends walking towards the sun in [[Domino City]] where Jaden is here.
* Bastion is seen using "Vorse Raider" and "Ring Of Destruction" in his duel. Both cards were often used by [[Seto Kaiba]] who is voiced by the same voice actor as Bastion, [[Eric Stuart]]. Also, both cards first appearance were during Kaiba and Yugi's [[Tag-Team Duel|Double Duel]] with [[Lumis and Umbra]] in the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! (second-series anime)|original series]] where "Vorse Raider" was also targeted by "Ring Of Destruction" (due to Lumis' trap card).
