* In [[Yu-Gi-Oh! - Episode 126|episode 126]], [[Yami Marik]] sets this card during his Duel against [[Joey Wheeler]], but he never activates it as . He was intending to activate this card to destroy all of Joey's monsters and attack Joey used directly with "[[QuestionLegendary Fiend]]" to , but Joey [[Special Summon]] s "[[Jinzo]]" whose effect destroys all via "[[Trap CardsQuestion]] on " and uses the fieldeffect of "Jinzo" to destroy all of Yami Marik's Trap Cards, which includes this card. * "Malevolent Catastrophe" apparently destroyed all monsters on the field instead of all [[Spell]] and Trap Cards on the field. However, since Marik commented that he would attack Joey directly with "[[Legendary Fiend]]" once "Malevolent Catastrophe " destroyed Joey's monsters, the exact anime effect of this card is not certain.** In the manga however, Marik's plan was more clear since this card's original manga effect was that it destroys all cards the opponent has one the field. And since "[[Coffin Seller]]" give the opponent 700 damage for either monsters or spell and traps in the manga, he wanted to send all cards to Joey's graveyard to inflict 3500 damage to him and win that way (Joey has 3300 LP at this point).
