There are many occasions in which a card, in the anime, may contradict its lore in the anime. These are usually due to errors on the writers' part.
Yu-Gi-Oh!
* Swords of Revealing Light (Episodes 1, 14, and 15 only)- Flip all monsters your opponent controls face-up. This card remains on the field for 3 of your opponent's turns. While this card is face-up on the field, monsters your opponent controls cannot declare an attack. Monsters summoned after this card's activation are excluded from this effect.
** Reason for contradiction: When Kaiba summoned "Judge Man" in episode 1, it was not affected by this card's effect. The same case applied to PaniK summoned "Metal Guardian" in episode 15. All episodes after that used the TCG/OCG effect.

* Insect Armor with Laser Cannon - Equip only to an Insect-Type monster. It gains 1500 ATK.
** Reason for contradiction: This card's written lore made it look similar to its OCG lore. * Koumori Dragon - 1700 ATK** Reason for contradiction: When this card is shown in card form, it correctly shows its ATK at 1500, but every time this card battles a monster, the damage is calculated as if this card has 1700 ATK.
* Pumpking the King of Ghosts - 1500 ATK** Reason for contradiction: When this card is shown in card form, it correctly shows its ATK at 1800, but when it was summoned, its ATK was 1500 and the Field Power Bonus and the Battle Damage that Bonz later receives are based on this. * Kunai with Chain - (Season 1 and 2 of DM only)Activate 1 or both of these effects (simultaneously).● When an opponent's monster declares an attack: you may negate the attack, and if you do, you may increase the ATK of the attack target by 500 until the End Phase.● Target 1 face-up monster you control; equip this card to that target. It gains 500 ATK.** Reason for contradiction: This card's effect was written in the style of its OCG lore and both "Celtic Guardian" and "Axe Raider" were affected by this card's effect during Yami Yugi and Joey's Duel against Para and Dox (only "Celtic Guardian" lost the boost which occurred after it destroyed "Wall Shadow"). * Dragon Capture Jar - During your Main Phase, you can activate this card from your hand. After activation, you can Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (100 ATK/200 DEF). While this card is face-up on the field, all Dragon-Type monstermonsterss disappear. This card gains the total DEF of all monsters that disappeared by this card's effect while it is treated as an Effect Monster.
** Reason for contradiction: Pegasus was able to play this card from his hand as a monster even though it's a Trap in both versions of the anime. These effects were also used in the anime in Pegasus' Duel with Yugi and Kaiba.
** Reason for contradiction: Despite this card's anime lore being similar to this card's first OCG lore, this card decreases the target's ATK by 700 every time it is affected.
* Shine Palace - Activate only by sending 1 "Toon World" you control to the Graveyard. This card is treated as "Toon World" while face-up on the field, and all LIGHT monstermonsterss you control gain 500 ATK.
** Reason for contradiction: This card's anime lore was written in a way that it looked similar to the OCG lore.

* Mirror Wall (episodes 29 and 30 only) - When your opponent declares an attack, "Mirror Wall" negates the attack and halves the ATK of the opponent's monster.
** The attacks made by "Gaia The Fierce Knight", "Summoned Skull", and "Dark Magician" against "Harpie Lady" were negated by this card despite that neither the anime nor the real card can do that.

* Shadow of Eyes - Whoever this Spell is equipped to can use pheromones to tempt their enemies, forcing them into Attack Position and force them to attack.
** This card made "Dark Magician" attack "Harpie Lady" despite that it was Mai's turn at the timing.

* Time Machine - When a monster is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, reduce the Battle Damage to 0 an return that monster to the field in the same position it was in when destroyed (This is not treated as a Summon.) with all card effects on it from the start of the turn.
** Reason for contradiction: Neither Joey nor Keith took any damage when this card was activated. Also when "Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon" was returned to the field, it retained the boost it got from "Dragon Nails".

* Magical Neutralizing Force" - Continuous Magic and Trap Cards used by your opponent lose effect where this card is placed.
** Reason for contradiction: The written anime lore implies that all Magic Cards loses their effects where this card is placed, but it should only be the opponent's as this card destroyed only "Magical Hats" when Pegasus used it. In the case where Yugi used it, this card destroyed "Toon World" and "Gorgon's Eye" (this was off-screen, but that action prevents Yami Yugi from losing each time "Relinquished" destroyed a Defense Position monster in battle).

* Living Arrow - The effect of a Spell owned by you or your opponent is given to an opponent's card(s) of your choice.
** Reason for contradiction: The written anime lore states it only affects the controller's Spell Cards and it only targets one opposing monster on the field. While this would work in this card's Duel debut, it would not in its other major duels as Yugi uses this card against Spell Cards controlled by his opponents (Pegasus' "Magical Neutralizing Force Field" and Keith Howard's "Tribute to The Doomed") and in the case with Pegasus it targeted "Toon World" (a Continuous Spell Card).
* Magic Jammer - Discard 1 card. Negate all Lingering Spell Card Effects and destroy all Spell Cards on the field.
** Reason for contradiction: This card's anime lore was written in a way that it looked similar to the OCG lore. The anime effect of "Magical Hats" was a Normal Spell Card with a Lingering effect that lasts until all the hats are destroyed and Keith activated this card on his Draw Phase instead of when "Magical Hats" was activated.

* Scapegoat - Special Summon up to 4 "Sheep Tokens" (Beast-Type/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position. These Tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon.
** Both the real card and the anime version of this card forbid the player from summoning other monsters the turn they activate this card (but a Normal Set can still be done), however Joey activates this card during the turn he Normal Summoned "Baby Dragon" during his Duel against Espa Roba. Additionally, this card requires the player to have four unoccupied Monster Card Zones, but during Joey's Duel against Odion, he activated this card while he only had three unoccupied Monster Card Zones.
* Roulette Spider - Pay half your Life Points. Spin a wheel centered around the monster with the highest ATK on the field. After it stops spinning, that monster must attack in the direction "Roulette Spider" is pointing.
** Reason for contradiction: Joey payed Life Points to activate this card despite that the written anime lore didn't say this.

* Graceful Dice (Episodes 64 onward)- Roll a six-sided die and select 1 monster with 500 or less ATK. Multiply its ATK by the number rolled until the End Phase.
** Reason for contradiction: In this card's debut duel, the effect didn't expire during the End Phase. In later duels, this card's effect does expire on the End Phase.
* Alligator's Sword Dragon - This card can attack your opponent directly if the only monsters they control are set monsters, EARTH monsters, WATER monsters, or FIRE monsters.
** Reason for contradiction: Although this card's written anime lore is the same as the OCG lore, Joey was still able to use this card's effect even though Mako's monsters were set.
* Mask of Restrict - Your opponent cannot Tribute any monsters they control for a Tribute Summon.** Reason for contradiction: This card's anime lore was written in a way that it looked similar to the OCG lore. In the anime, Yami Yugi was able to summon "Valkyrion the Magna Warrior" while this card was present and later Kaiba uses "Cross Sacrifice" to Tribute the Magnet Warriors while they were on Umbra's side of the field in order to Tribute Summon "Obelisk the Tormentor". * Mask of Weakness - This card can only be activated in the Battle Phase. Select 1 battling monster and decrease the selected monster's ATK by 700 points during the turn this card is activated.** Reason for contradiction:This's written anime lore states it targets the attacking monster yet Lumis was able to use this card on "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" when it was attacked by "Rogue Doll". * Mystical Refpanel - Activate only when your opponent activates a Spell Card. You may negate the effect of that card. At anytime, you can select and activate one of the following effects.
● Change the target of the Spell Card to another appropriate target. If the Spell Card was an Equip Spell Card, destroy it on the End Phase.
● Use the negated card from the Graveyard as you your card or your opponent's card.** Reason for contradiction: This card was saved for when Yugi needed it sometimes and this card could also affect In episode 78s. Also , Yugi could use had the choice of using "Meteor of Destruction" on either player with this card, but in the end he chose himself as he didn't want to see Joey die. Also "Mask of Brutality" was gone after "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" destroyed "Rogue Doll".
* Meteor of Destruction - You must pay 500 Life Points to activate this effect. Inflict 1000 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points. Then you may select 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field. The selected monster attack you.
* Dark Sanctuary - Activate only when a "Dark Necrofear" is sent to your Graveyard. The Ghost of Dark Sanctuary appears. During each of your Main Phases, Tribute 1 monster or destroy this card. Your Monster Card Zones are also treated as Spell and Trap Card Zones.
** Reason for contradiction: Yami Bakura mentioned this even though it wasn't written in the anime lore. Also after Yami Bakura Tributed "Jowgen the Spiritualist", he set "Dark Spirit of the Silent" which he couldn't have done on the End Phase.

* Amazoness Archers - Activate only when your opponent declares an attack while you control an "Amazoness" monster or "The Unfriendly Amazon". All monsters your opponent controls are changed to face-up Attack Position (Flip Effects are not activated), and lose 500 ATK as long as they remain face-up on the field. Your opponent must attack with all of their monsters.
** Reason for contradiction: Mai activated this card while she had "The Unfriendly Amazon" on the field, which could not have been done since that monster isn't valid card for this card's requirements
* Cold Wave - This card can only be activated during your Main Phase 1. Until your next turn, you and your opponent cannot play or Set any Spell or Trap Cards.
** Reason for contradiction: When Crump played the card, he played it after summoning "Giant Red Seasnake", but in the real game that would be impossible because this card can only be activated at the start of the controller's Main Phase 1 and nowhere else.

* Soul Demolition - You can only activate this card's effect when you have a Fiend-Type monster on your side of the field. Both players, during their respective turns, can pay 500 Life Points for each card selected and remove it from play.
** Reason for contradiction: This card's anime lore is the same as its OCG lore (at the time), which would not have helped Seto conduct his winning move as he had three monsters in his Graveyard at the time in contrast to Gozaburo Kaiba who had five monsters in his Graveyard.
* Cyber Jar - FLIP: Destroy all monsters on the field, then both players reveal the top 5 cards from their Decks, then Special Summon all revealed Level 4 or lower monsters in, face-up Attack Position, face-up Defense Position, or face-down Defense Position, also add any remaining cards to their hand. (If either player has less than 5 cards in their Deck, reveal as many as possible.)
** Reason for contradiction: This card's effect was the same as the real card in the first two Duels it was used in. However in Kaiba's Duel with Leichter and Yami Yugi's Duel with Noah, the Defense Position monsters summoned by this card's effect were face-up instead of face-down.
* BlueDe-Eyes Toon DragonFusion - Cannot be summoned unless you control a face-up "Toon World". This card cannot attack the turn it is Special Summoned. You must pay 500 Life Points to declare an attack with this monster. If "Toon World" Return 1 Fusion Monster on the field is destroyed, destroy this card. This card can attack your opponent directly, unless they control a Toon Monster. If they do control one, this card must target a Toon Monster for its attacks.** Reason for contradiction: Alister (who was disguised as Pegasus at to the timing) summoned this card via "Fusion Deck" which should have been impossible as he didn't Special Summon this card from his hand by Tributing two monsters* Guardian Eatos - This card must first be Summoned while you control a face-up "Celestial Sword - Eatos". If you have no In addition, if all the monsters s are in your the Graveyardowner's Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card has a card equipped to it, once per turn you can send one Equip Spell Card equipped to this card them all to the Graveyard to Fusion Monster's remove from playcontroller cards from the top of your opponent's Graveyard up until a non-Monster Card is revealed. This card gains ATK equal to the total ATK side of the monsters removed by this effect, until the end of the Battle Phasefield. ** Reason for contradiction: Despite what the This card's written anime lore says, "Eatos" lost the boost states that it got from its effect when its will split a Fusion Monster and negate an attack failed to destroy "Dark Magician". Also However in Yami was able to bring "Eatos" back via "Monster Reborn" even though he didnYugi't have "s Duel against Celestial Sword - EatosNoah Kaiba", this card was used with its real game effect due to Yami Yugi using it during his own turn in order to help him win the Duel.
* Golden Castle of StrombergXYZ-Dragon Cannon - During each of your Standby Phases, send half the cards in your Deck to the City arc only. If you cannot, destroy this This card.
● Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1, can only be Special Summon 1 random Level 4 or lower monster Summoned from your hand or Extra Deck in face-up Attack Position.
● You cannot Normal Summon monsters.
● All monsters Special Summoned by this card's effect and all monsters your opponent sending the above cards you controls must attack, if ableto the Graveyard.
● When an opponent's monster declares an attack, destroy that monster, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half of that monster's ATK(You do not use "Polymerization".
● ) This card cannot be destroyed by Special Summoned from the effects of other Spells, Traps, or Effect MonstersGraveyard.
● Your You can discard 1 card to destroy 1 card your opponent must pay this card's maintenance costcontrols.** Reason for contradiction: Despite what the written anime lore saysWhen Yugi activates "Necromancy" in episode 131, Leon was able to summon "Forest WolfX-Head Cannon" from his hand which should was revived despite that it wouldn't have been impossible as Leon can only summon monsters from his Deckthere due to the Fusion Material Monsters of "XYZ Dragon Cannon" being banished.
* Soul ShieldDark Paladin - episode 134 only by . This card cannot be paySpecial Summoning half your ed except by Life PointsFusion Summon when a . This card gains 500 monsterATK you control would be for each destroyed by battleDragon. It is not destroyed by this battle and you take no -Battle DamageType from this battle. At the end of the monster, end on the field.** Reason for contradiction: Yugi was able to use In this card to prevent "Dark Magician" 's anime debut, it only gained ATK from destroying "Blockman" and inflicting piercing damage despite what the written anime lore saysDragons on the field.
==Yu-Gi-Oh! GX==* Terrorking ArchfiendRagnarok - This card cannot be Normal SummonActivateed or only while there are any 2 of Dark Sageed unless you have an , Dark Magician , Dark Magician Girl on your side of the , or fieldMagician of Black Chaos. The on the controllerfield of this card . Remove from plays 800 all monsters during each of his/her from your Standby Phasehands (this is not optional). When the , effectDeck of a card and controlGraveyardled by your opponent is . Remove from playd that would destroy or switch control of one Monster card all monsters on your opponent's side of the field, roll a six-sided die. If the result is 2 or 5, negate the effect and destroy the opponent's card. The effects of an Effect Monster that this card destroyed as a result of battle are negated.** Reason for contradiction: This Despite this card's effect in Japanese lore (which says it destroys all monsters on the opponent's side of the anime was able to respond to "Mirror Gate" which doesnfield), this card removes the opponent't target s monstersfrom play instead of destroying them.
* Elemental HERO Flame WingmanBlue-Eyes Toon Dragon - When this Cannot be summoned unless you control a face-up "Toon World". This card destroys a monster by battle and sends cannot attack the turn it is Special Summoned. You must pay 500 Life Points to declare an attack with this monster. If "Toon World" on the Graveyardfield is destroyed, inflict damage to destroy this card. This card can attack your opponent equal to the ATK of that monsterdirectly, unless they control a Toon Monster. If they do control one, this card must target a Toon Monster for its attacks.** Reason for contradiction: "Flame Wingman" managed to inflict damage 2300 damage to Dimitri when it destroyed Alister (who was disguised as Pegasus at the timing) summoned this card via "Dark Magician GirlToon Mask" when the damage which should have been 2000. Also there have been many occasions where "Flame Wingman" was summoned through something besides Fusion impossible as he didn't Special Summonthis card from his hand by Tributing two monsters.
* Ancient Gear CastleRope of Life - Face-up "Ancient Gear" monsters gain 300 ATK. Each time you Normal Summon or Set When a monster(s) is destroyed (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Discard your entire hand (min.1), put then target 1 counter on this card. If you Tribute of those monsters; Special Summon an "Ancient Gear" monsterit, and if you can substitute this card for a Tribute(s)do, if the number of counters is equal to or greater than the number of required Tribute(s)it gains 800 ATK.** Reason for contradiction: This card's effect didn't Rebecca was able to activate when Camula Normal Summoned a monster when this card when "Luster Dragon #2" was used for destroyed by the Duel between Crowler and Camulaeffect of "Double Cloth Armor" even though it wasn't destroyed in battle.
* One Hundred Thousand GaussAdamantine Sword Revival - Activate only while you control when a faceDragon-up Plus Type monster and a Minus monsteris Special Summoned from the Graveyard. Select one face-up monster Tribute it to Special Summon 1 "Diamond Head Dragon" from your opponent controls It loses 800 ATK (If that Deck in face-up monster is in Defense Attack Position, change under the control of the controller of the Special Summoned Dragon-Type monster. The Special Summoned monster can't attack the turn it to Attack Position)'s summoned.** Reason for contradiction: The written anime lore would make last effect of this card impossible to activate was never stated in the Duel that it was used in as lore, yet "Amazoness PaladinDiamond Head Dragon" was wasn't allowed to attack in Attack Position when this card the second to last turn and the effect was activatedmentioned by Duke and Rebecca, which prevented Valon from losing on that turn.
* Destiny HERO - DreadmasterRoll of Fate - (Society of Light only) If this card was Summoned, destroy all monsters you control (except for "Destiny Hero" monsters)Roll a six-sided die. Draw cards equal to the result, then you can Special Summon up to 2 "Destiny Hero" monsters send an equal number of cards from your Graveyard in Attack Position. During the turn this card is Special Summoned via "Clock Tower Prison", "Destiny Hero" monsters you control cannot be destroyed, and you take no Battle Damage when they battle. The ATK and DEF top of this card are equal your Deck to the total ATK of all other "Destiny Hero" monsters you controlGraveyard.** Reason for contradiction: Even though This card's written anime lore states that the top cards removed from the top of the controller's Deck are banished, but when this card was Special Summoned via "The Shallow Grave"is used, "Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab" was still able the removed cards are sent to destroy "Destiny HERO - Captain Tenacious" in battlethe Graveyard, not banished.
* Counterattack!Guardian Eatos - Activate only during either player's Battle PhaseThis card must first be Summoned while you control a face-up "Celestial Sword - Eatos". If you have no monsters in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once during If this card has a card equipped to it, once per turn, if a monster attacks you can send one Equip Spell Card equipped to this card to the Graveyard to remove from play cards from the top of your opponent's Graveyard up until a non-Monster Card is revealed. This card gains ATK equal to the total ATK of the monstersremoved by this effect, until the monster that was attacked must attack this turn, ignoring replays or conditionsend of the Battle Phase.** Reason for contradiction: This card was activated on Syrus' Battle Phase and Despite the written anime lore, "Eatos" lost the boost it was established that Syrus and Hassleberry can't got from its effect when its attack their own monsters hence failed to destroy "Training FieldDark Magician" being activated. Also Yami Yugi was able to bring "Element SaurusEatos" had to have attacked, otherwise back via "Training FieldMonster Reborn" wouldneven though he didn't have boosted its ATK"Celestial Sword - Eatos".
* Dark CreatorSkull Dice - This card cannot be destroyed by battle or declare a direct attack. If this card destroys When an opponent's monster battles, roll a six-sided die. That monster's ATK is divided by battle(except "Dark Creator"), inflict 700 damage to your opponentthe number rolled.** Reason for contradiction: Since This card's written anime lore states it can only be activated when an opponent's monster attacks, but in the Dark Creator Tokens had the same effects of "Dark Creator"duel between Joey and Solomon Muto, the effect of the "Dark Creator Token" Jaden used Joey was able to destroy activate this card when "Dark CreatorSwordsman of Landstar" once and for all should have activated when attacked "Dark CreatorWandering Mummy" was destroyed in battle, but it did not do so.
* Stray LambsMischief of the Time Goddess - (Season 2 only) Special Summon 2 "Lamb Tokens" (BeastQuick-Type/EARTHPlay Spell Card/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position.** Reason for contradiction: Although Zigfried played this card was written with its TCG/OCG lore, Chazz was still able to activate "Ojamandala" to revive the as a Quick-Play Spell Card even though it's a Spell Card siblings.
* White Night DragonValkyrie Erste - You can negate the activation of any Spell or Trap Card that targets this cardOnce per turn, and destroy that card. When if a face-up monster you control your opponent controls is selected as an attack targetdestroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can send 1 Spell or Trap Card you control remove from play that monster from your opponent's Graveyard. This turn, this card's original ATK becomes equal to the Graveyard to change ATK of the removed monster while it was on the target to this cardfield.** Reason for contradiction: This In this card's written anime lore was similar to its OCG loredebut episode, which meant that Alexis could not equip one copy gained the original ATK of "White VeilInsect Queen" , but it seems to this card as this cardhave gained the ATK "Insect Queen" had when it was on the field (which was 2400), otherwise Zigfried von Schroeder wouldn's first effect in the real game is mandatory not optionalt have been able to conduct his OTK to both Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood.
* Arcana Force EX - The Light RulerGolden Castle of Stromberg - Cannot be During each of your Normal SummonStandby Phaseed or s, Setsend. Must be half the cards in your Decked by "to the The Heaven's RoadGraveyard". If you cannot, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. When destroy this card is .● Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1, Special Summoned: Toss a coin and gain the appropriate 1 effectrandom. ● Heads: When this card destroyLevels an opponent's 4 or lower monster from your hand or Deck in by battleface-up and sendAttack Positions it to the .● You cannot Summon: You can monsters.● All monsters Special Summoned by this card's effect 1 card in your Graveyard; add that target to and all monsters your opponent handcontrols must attack, if able. You cannot ● When an opponent's monster declares an activateattack , destroy that card this monster, and inflict damage. ● Tails: During either playerto your opponent equal to half of that monster's turn: NegateATK .● This card cannot be destroyed by the activation effects of a other Spells, Traps, or Effect Monster's Effect that targets this card and destroy it. After this effect resolves, this card loses 1000 ● Your opponent must ATKpay and your opponent this card's drawsmaintenance cost 1 card.** Reason for contradiction: This card's Despite what the written anime effect wouldn't have worked in episode 104 since it responded lore says, Leon was able to the effect of Special Summon "Elemental HERO Grand NeosForest Wolf" after "Reversal of Fate" resolvedfrom his hand which should have been impossible as Leon can only summon monsters from his Deck.
* A Hero EmergesSoul Shield - You can Activate only by activatepay this card when ing half your opponent declares an attackLife Points or when your opponent destroys a monster you control by battle. Your opponent selects 1 monster card from your you control would be handdestroyed by battle. If it It is a not destroyed by this battle and you take no Monster CardBattle Damage, from this battle. At the end of the Special SummonDamage Step it on your side of the field. If not, send it to end the Phase.** Reason for contradiction: Although Yugi was able to use this card's written anime lore and its real card lore are the same, Jaden activated this card after to prevent "Vennominon the King of Poisonous SnakesDark Magician" destroyed from destroying "Elemental HERO BubblemanBlockman" in and inflicting piercing damage despite the written anime lore not saying it can nullify battle, which shouldn't have been possibledamage.
* ==Elemental HERO Wildheart Yu-Gi- This card is unaffected by Trap Cards and can't be targeted by their effects.** Reason for contradictionOh! The Movie: The effect Pyramid of "Dark CureLight" didn't activate when this card was summoned even though this card can still be targeted for the effects of Traps.==* Freed the Brave WandererToon Dark Magician Girl - Once per turn, Cannot be summoned unless you can remove from play 2 LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard to destroy 1 control a face-up monster on the field whose original ATK is higher than this card.** Reason for contradiction: When Jaden used this card's effect on "Power AnnihilatorToon World", this card's ATK was higher than the ATK of . while you control "Power AnnihilatorToon World" and that would make it impossible for Jaden to use this card's effect to destroy . If "Power AnnihilatorToon World". * Elemental HERO Divine Neos - This card can only be Special Summoned from your Fusion Deck by returning on the above cards on your field or in your Graveyard to the Deck. (You do not use "Polymerization"). By selecting 1 "Neo-Spacian" monster in your Deck and removing it from playis destroyed, destroy this card gains 500 ATK. This card may gain any effects of any "Neo-Spacians" removed from play this way.** Reason for contradiction: The effect of "Neo-Spacian Glow Moss" didn't activate when this card attacked "Darkness Neosphere", which could have changed the outcome of the whole Duel. ==Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's==* Nitro Warrior - Once during each of Can attack your turnsopponent directly, if you had activated unless they control a Spell Card this turnToon monster, you may increase in which case this card's ATK by 1000 during its next attack, for damage calculation only. If this attacking card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can must target 1 face-up Defense Position a Toon monster your opponent controls; change that target to Attack Position, then attack it with this cardfor its attacks.** Reason for contradiction: During Yusei's second Duel against Trudge, this This card gained 1000 gains 300 ATK even though for every "Speed Spell - Dash PilferDark Magician" was played before this card was summoned. In addition to this, this card didn't gain ATK during Yusei's Duel against Leo even though he had played or "Card RotatorMagician of Black Chaos" that turn. * Junk Warrior - This card gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all Level 2 and lower monsters you control. If any Level 2 and lower monsters you control had their attack altered during the Battle Phase, this cardin either player's ATK will not change until the end of the Battle PhaseGraveyard. ** Reason for contradiction: Despite this This card's anime lore, its ATK didn't change when summon was a Normal Summon in the movie as Pegasus had to use "Speed WarriorUltimate Offering" gained ATK through its own effectin order to summon "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" and "Toon Summoned Skull".
* Fairy Wind - Destroy all other face-up Spell and Trap Cards on the field. Both players take damage equal to the total number of cards destroyed by this effect x 400. Spell Cards controlled by your opponent are excluded from this effect.
** Reason for contradiction: Despite this card's anime lore, both "Immortal Homeostasis" and "Wave of Ill Intent" were not counted for this card's damage effect.

* Call of the Haunted" - Target 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Attack Position. When this card leaves the field, destroy that target. When that target is removed from the field, destroy this card.
** Reason for contradiction: This card was destroyed when Grady used "Blizzard Lizard" and "Dark Tuner Catastrogue" for a Dark Synchro Summon even though "Blizzard Lizard" wasn't destroyed. This error is also somewhat present in GX when monsters summoned via this card's effect are removed from the field instead of just being destroyed.

* Parasite Mind - Activate only during your opponent's turn. Select 1 face-up Continuous Spell Card or Continuous Trap Card your opponent controls and activate that card's effect as if you were the controller of that card.
** Reason for contradiction: The written anime lore of this card wouldn't have worked in destroying "Earthbound Immortal Chacu Challhua" as the latter is unaffected by the opponent's Spell and Trap Cards.

* Roar of the Earthbound - Once per turn, when your opponent's monster declares an attack, if the ATK of the attacking monster is lower than that of a face-up "Earthbound Immortal" monster you control, destroy the attacking monster and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half that monster's ATK.
** Reason for contradiction: This card's anime lore looked similar to its TCG/OCG lore, but despite this, Yusei took only 900 damage which was the half the current ATK of "Speed Warrior" at that point.

* Chain Arrow - Select 1 face-up monster on the field. Once during this turn, if that monster battles with another monster, it gains 500 ATK during damage calculation only. Also, if that monster destroys a monster by battle, select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. It loses 1000 ATK until the End Phase.
** Reason for contradiction: If the written anime lore of this card was used in the anime, then Andre shouldn't have been able to destroy "Junk Archer" as soon as he revived "Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest" as the effect of this card would have lasted until the end of Andre's turn.

* Glow-Up Bulb - You can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard and Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. Each player can only use the effect of "Glow-Up Bulb" once per Duel.
** Reason for contradiction: This card's written's anime lore would make it impossible for Akiza to activate in her Duel against Andre as she activated this card's effect on her Main Phase 1 and she only sent one card from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard not two.

* Magic Charge - Activate only when a Spell Card you control is destroyed. Both players take 2000 damage.
** Reason for contradiction: Andre managed to activate this card when Yusei destroyed "Speed Spell - The End of the Storm" to Special Summon "Card Breaker". If this card can only activate when the said Spell Card is destroyed by an effect, it would be impossible for Andre to activate this card the way he activated it as Yusei destroyed "The End of the Storm" for a Summoning condition, not an effect.

* Zushin the Sleeping Giant - This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Tributing 1 Level 1 monster that has remained face-up on your side of the field for 10 or more of your turns. If this card battles with an opponent's monster, until the end of the Damage Step, it gains ATK equal to the ATK of the opponent's monster + 1000. Also if the monster that this card battles have effect(s) that affect this card, those effects are negated until the end of the Damage Step. This card cannot be targeted by the effects of your opponent's Spell/Trap Cards.
** Reason for contradiction: Despite this card's written anime lore, it didn't affect the effects of "Black-Winged Dragon" and "Shooting Star Dragon". If it had affected the latter, Yusei wouldn't have been able to save his "Shooting Star Dragon" from being destroyed.

* Majestic Star Dragon - You can Tribute this card to negate the activation of an opponent's Spell Card, Trap Card, or Effect Monster's effect and destroy all cards your opponent controls. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls until the End Phase. Also, if the negated effect can be activated, you can activate it once as this card's effect. During your End Phase, return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Stardust Dragon" from your Graveyard.
** Reason for contradiction: This card didn't go back to Yusei's Extra Deck whenever it was Halldor's End Phase and "Stay Force" only helped in keeping this card from going back to Yusei's Extra Deck whenever it was his End Phase.

* Tyr of the Nordic Champions - If you control no face-up Divine-Beast-Type monsters, destroy this card. You can Tribute this card to activate its effect. If you do, the effects of Divine-Beast-Type monsters cannot be negated by your card effects this turn.
** Reason for contradiction: When Yusei activated "Trick Mirror" to prevent "Odin's Eye" from activating and activate the effect of "Odin's Eye" as the effect of "Trick Mirror", the Aesirs still had their effects negated.

* Ecole de Zone - Monsters cannot attack directly. When a non-Token Monster is Summoned, except by this card's effect, negate the Summon and destroy that monster. Then, Special Summon 1 "Mask Token" (Spellcaster-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK ?/DEF ?) to the destroyed monster's controller's side of the field. The ATK and DEF of the "Mask Token" are equal to the respective ATK and DEF of the destroyed monster.
** Reason for contradiction: This card's effect didn't activate when Sherry used "Imitation" to summon a Mask Token onto Akiza's of the field even though Sherry summoned a monster through something beside this card's effect.

* Synchro Monument - When a Tuner monster is Summoned or a Synchro Monster is Synchro Summoned, your opponent cannot activate any cards that affect you or your monsters until the End Phase (your opponent can still use card effects to change your monsters' battle positions).
** Reason for contradiction: The written anime lore would make it impossible for Aporia to activate "Chaos Infinity" since that is still activating a card (Jack had Synchro Summoned "Red Nova Dragon" and that should have prevented Aporia from activating "Chaos Infinity").

* Razion, the Timelord - This card cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. You take no Battle Damage from battles involving this face-up Attack Position card. If this card battles, at the end of the Damage Step: Shuffle all monsters your opponent controls and all cards in your opponent's Graveyard to the Deck. When your opponent draw(s) a card during the Draw Phase: Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. No card effects can respond to this effect's activation. You cannot Summon monsters. During your Standby Phase: Shuffle this face-up card you control to the Deck.
** Reason for contradiction: The effect of "Black-Winged Dragon" didn't respond to this card's effect when Yusei conducted his Draw Phase and because "Black-Winged Dragon's" effect is a Continuous Effect, the effect of "Razion" probably can't be responded to in the anime.

* Shooting Quasar Dragon - This card's maximum number of attacks per turn is equal to the number of monsters used as Synchro Material Monsters. When this card attacks, you can negate effects that prevent cards from being destroyed, until the end of the Battle Phase. While this card is face-up on the field, you take no effect damage and effects that halve your Life Points are negated. This card is unaffected by the effects of your opponent's monsters. When this card is removed from the field, destroy all monsters on the field, then Special Summon 1 "Shooting Star Dragon" from your Extra Deck (This Special Summon is treated as a Synchro Summon).
** Reason for contradiction: The written anime lore of this card would not have helped in destroying the Timelords in battle since an effect that prevents a monster from being destroyed by battle doesn't mean that the monster's destruction is negated. Also halving a player's Life Points doesn't count as damage, so the effect of "Michion, the Timelord" should have still activated, but it did not.

Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL
* Number 25: Force Focus - Cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters. When your opponent activates an Effect Monster's effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target that monster; negate that target's effect(s) this turn. When this card battles with an opponent's monster, you may detach one Xyz Material from this card. If you do, the monster that this card is battling has its effects negated this turn.
** Reason for contradiction: This card was able to negate the effect of "Gogogo Golem" which is a Continuous Effect in both the anime and the real card game. This card's effect was also hinted in the anime to be able to negate the effect of "Number 39: Utopia".
* Photon World - When a "Photon" monster is Normal or Special Summoned: You can inflict damage to all players that do not control a "Photon" monster equal to the Summoned monster's Level × 100.
** Reason for contradiction: Despite this card's written anime lore, this card's effect did not activate when "Photon Caesar" was summoned.

* Heroic Challenger - War Hammer - When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Destroy all Equip Cards equipped to this card, then you can equip the destroyed monster to this card as an Equip Card. This card gains ATK equal to the ATK of a monster equipped to it.
** Reason for contradiction: Despite this card's written anime lore, Nistro was able to Special Summon this card during the Duel Coaster part of the World Duel Carnival finals.

* Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage - Cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters. During either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then activate 1 of these effects.
● Until the End Phase of this turn, if this card battles one of your opponent's monsters, that monster's ATK becomes 0 and this card's ATK becomes that monster's original ATK.
● Until the End Phase of this turn, negate the effects of 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls and this card gains that monster's effects.
● When an opponent's monster declares an attack, that monster's name becomes "Unknown" and this card gains that monster's original name.
** Reason for contradiction: One of the written effects that can be selected for the second effect of "Heraldic King Genom-Heritage" would not have helped Vetrix in destroying "Number 9: Dyson Sphere" as he explicitly stated during his Duel against Kite that this effect negates the effects of "Dyson Sphere" and grants "Genom-Heritage" those effects until the End Phase.

* Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction - Cannot be destroyed by battle except with "Number" monsters. During your Standby Phase: Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card or take 2000 damage. While this card has no Xyz Materials, it cannot attack. When this card is targeted for an attack, while it has no Xyz Material: Destroy this card. When this card is destroyed: Take 2000 damage.
** Reason for contradiction: Despite that the anime card and the real card forbids the player from Special Summon monsters, Vetrix was able to summon Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage while this card was face-up.

* Dotedotengu - When this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 card either player controls; return it to the hand.
** Reason for contradiction: Despite this card's written anime lore, Yuma Tsukumo used this card to return a card controlled by Devon Knox.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light
* Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon - Cannot be summoned unless you control a face-up "Toon World". This card cannot attack the turn it is Special Summoned. You must pay 500 Life Points to declare an attack with this monster. If "Toon World" on the field is destroyed, destroy this card. This card can attack your opponent directly, unless they control a Toon Monster. If they do control one, this card must target a Toon Monster for its attacks.
** Reason for contradiction: This card's summon was a Normal Summon in the movie as Pegasus had to apply the effect of "Ultimate Offering" in order to summon it.
* Toon Summoned Skull - Cannot be summoned unless you control a face-up "Toon World".
** Reason for contradiction: Same reason as reason for "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" in the movie.

* Peten the Dark Clown - Fiend-type monster
** Reason for contradiction: This card is a Spellcaster-type monster in the movie and the real card game, but this card was used in conjunction with "Deck Destruction Virus", whose effect activates only when a Fiend-type monster is destroyed.

* Paladin of White Dragon - Warrior-type monster
** Reason for contradiction: Even though this card is listed as a Dragon-type monster on the card, it does not count towards the effect of "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon", which would have made Yami Yugi lose when "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" attacks and destroys "Sorcerer of Dark Magic".
* Pyramid of Light - All God Cards on the field are removed from play. If this face-up card is removed from your side of the field, destroy "Andro Sphinx" and "Sphinx Teleia" on your side of the field and remove them from play.
** Reason for contradiction: Despite the written anime lore, this card still retained its TCG/OCG effect in the anime as "Andro Sphinx" and "Sphinx Teleia" were both destroyed when Yami Yugi finally destroyed this card.
