* This card is based off the modern representation of a Mesopotamian god, Tiamat, which was popularized in the 1970's thanks to the Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game. Both Dungeons and Dragons and Yu-Gi-Oh! represent Tiamat as being a multi-headed dragon, but no ancient texts exist where there is a clear association with a dragon.
