* Ironically, despite Chazz not wanting to be a [[Ra Yellow]] student, he eventually becomes a [[Slifer Red]] student which is lower ranked than Ra.
* While the Kanji used is different, in Japan, Chazz shares his name with "Manjome Jun" the protagonist of Ultra Q, the first entry in the Ultra Series (also known as the Ultraman Series). While this may be a simple coincidence, one of GX's main writers Junki Takegami had worked on multiple instalments of the Ultra Series, and GX features other references to it, such as Elemental Hero Neos name likely referencing Ultraman Neos (which Junki Takegami was even head writer on), making it seem plausible this could be yet another nod to the long running series.
*Chazz is the first primary rival not to defeat the [[Jaden Yuki]|protagonist]] of his series although he does so in the manga.
