The members of the series are based on creatures, superstitions and tropes found in [[wikipedia:Japanese urban legend|Japanese urban legend]]s.
"[[Wicked Shadow Dark Lurker]]" and "[[Dark Skeleton Dead Doom Dread Ruler]]" are not based on any particular urban legends, but act as the [[Main Deck|Deck]]'s boss monsters and are related through the former's appearance in the ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS]]'' anime and the [[Trap Card]] "[[It's Right Behind You!]]".
