Dark Synchro Monsters (Japanese: ダークシンクロモンスター Dāku Shinkuro Monsutā) are a type of Monster Card exclusive to the anime, manga, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force video games. The color of their card frame is black. They all are a counterpart to Synchro Monsters, that either have negative Negative Levels (in the anime and video games) that are represented by blue orbs with purple stars, or are Level 0(in the manga). The color of their card frame is a dark grey with a brownish tint. These cards are placed in the Extra Deck. Dark Synchro Monsters are considered entirely different from normal Synchro Monsters.
Dark Synchro Monsters are Dark Synchro Summoned by sending 1 Dark Tuner monster and 1 non-Tuner monster to the Graveyard. The non-Tuner monster's Level minus the Dark Tuner monster's Level must be equal to the Dark Synchro Monster's negative Level.
Their In the anime, their negative Level stars are left-aligned (like the Ranksof an Xyz Monster), contrasting to the right-aligned positive Levels. Their black , while their dark gray card frame contrasts with the white card frame of regular Synchro Monsters. Dark Synchro Monsters are also Synchro Monsters, and Dark Synchro Summoning is a form of Synchro Summoning.
Dark Synchro Monsters debuted in 5ds. They are also present in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - Episode 027|episode 27. They are also present in manga and the video games Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force 4, 5, and 6.
Because of the greater difficulty in Summoning them, Dark Synchro Monsters are generally more powerful than Synchro Monsters of their equivalent levelLevel.
In the OCG/TCG
There No monsters are no designated as Dark Synchro Monsters in the OCG/TCG. All Dark Synchro Monsters have been released as regular Synchro Monsters in the OCG/TCG; their effects have also , with either been changed and/or modified except "Zeman the Ape King". Although they don't use Dark Tuner monsters, they still require DARK-Attribute Tuner monsters regular (except "Moon Dragon Quilla" and "Ultimaya Tzolkin"but highly specific) to be Synchro Summoned. Also, Dark Synchro Monsters Summoning requirements or a special Summoning condition that appeared in the anime require the Type of the non-Tuner monsters to be the same Type as then non-Tuner monster that was used for their simulates a Dark Synchro Summon in anime (e.g. in the anime, Grady Dark Synchro Summoned "Frozen Fitzgerald" using "Dark Tuner Catastrogue" and the Beast-Type non-Tuner "Blizzard Lizard"; as such, the TCG/OCG card "Frozen Fitzgerald" requires Beast-Type non-Tuner monsters).
Dark Synchro Monsters from the anime (except "Moon Dragon Quilla") require 1 DARK-Attribute Tuner monster (instead of Dark Tuner monsters, which do not exist in the OCG/TCG) and non-Tuner monsters of the same Type as then non-Tuner monster that was used for their Dark Synchro Summon in anime (e.g. in the anime, Grady Dark Synchro Summoned "Frozen Fitzgerald" using "Blizzard Lizard"; as such, the OCG/TCG card "Frozen Fitzgerald" requires Beast-Type non-Tuner monsters). The two Dark Synchro Monsters from the manga, "Ultimate God Ultimaya Tzolkin" and "Ultimate Legendary Phantasm GodUltimitl Bishbaalkin" , are Level 0 and have 12 Synchro Monsters with a Special Summoning conditions that more closely simulate the Summon of condition almost identical to a Dark Synchro MonstersSummon, as suggested by being printed as Level 0 monsters. They require sending any 1 Level 5 or higher Tuner and any 1 Level 5 or higher non-Tuner with the same Level as each other from your the player's field to the Graveyard.  "Ursarctic" Synchro Monsters also have a special Summoning condition where the difference between the Levels of the pseudo-materials is used to perform the Summon, as that is what has to match the Synchro Monster's Level rather than the sum. The first Level 1 Synchro Monsters, something impossible to equal 0 Synchro Summon, belong to this archetype, and do not care which Level is higher. Higher-Level "Ursarctic" Synchro Monsters require the Tuner to have a higher Level than the non-Tuner. Neither the manga method nor the "Ursactic" method is treated as a Synchro Summoning; the monsters sent to the GY are not considered Synchro Materials, unlike in the anime and manga. In fact, these 2 groups of monsters are also the only Synchro Monsters that cannot be Synchro Summoned. == List ==This is a list of OCG/TCG cards that are Level 0Dark Synchro Monsters in other media.

"Frozen Fitzgerald" was negative 5 while "Junk Warrior" was 5. "Hundred Eyes Dragon" was negative 8 while "Stardust Dragon" was 8. "Zeman the Ape King" was negative 7, while both "Ancient Fairy Dragon" and "Power Tool Dragon" were 7.(anime)|align=center}}
