*Carly has been made subject to a running gag in the series where she frequently finds material to write a groundbreaking scoop, only for something to stop her at the last minute, usually bad luck.
*Carly is the only former [[Dark Signer]] to appear at the end of in Season 2 who does not have any recollection of her actions as a Dark Signer. The reason behind this is unknown.
*Carly's outfit bears many similarities to [[Mokuba|Mokuba Kaiba]]'s. Her companionship and fervent admiration towards Jack pays homage to Mokuba's relationship with [[Kaiba|Seto Kaiba]]. This has led to the various Rule 63 references comparing Carly to a older, female version of Mokuba. Also, she wears a sleeveless orange jacket and stripy shirt - just like Mokuba.
