Should the "Monk" cards be considered an Archetype? I refer to Monk Fighter, Master Monk, Chu-ske the Mouse Fighter. They have only a few support cards; Kanimote Blow, Legendary Black Belt, and Lone Wolf. They seem to be an Archtype, but I'm not sure if an archetype that consists of 6 cards is worth mentioning.

Des[edit]

Des monsters, like Des koala, Des frog, and Des dendle, they all seem to be a part of the the same archetype of cards. Does this constitute as a archetype of cards, or no? For a list, it's Des Koala, Des Lacooda, Des Wombat, Des Croaking, Des Counterblow, Des Volstgalph, Des Dendle, Des Mosquito, Des Accelerator, Des Counter, Des Chironex, Ect. As for your question, there is no archetype here. Note that the definition of archetype that we use for the wiki has the specific requirement of support - there must be at least one card whose effect supports any card with a specific string in its Japanese name. There is no such support card for Des cards, nor is it likely there ever will be; "Des" is simply a bowdlerized translation of "デス" (desu "death"), which is an extremely generic string used by many cards besides the English "Des" cards.
There may, however, be potential for a series here instead, but only if these cards share some thematic tie beyond simply having similar names - for instance, if they are obviously related to each other by their design or if they are all used by the same character in the anime/manga. I haven't looked to see, though. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:07, December 1, 2013 (UTC)
