* This is the second of the Darkness Monsters to be made into an actual card, the first being [[Darkness Destroyer]].
* This card bears a slight resemblance to [[Vanity's Fiend]], whose collar resembles Neosphere's left wing, and the white flower petals resemble his right wing. Traditional symbology dictates that evil is left (sinistrum) and good is on the right (dextro) [[Vanity's Fiend]] is also a fiend, and can be used as the field or hand tribute for [[Darkness Neosphere]] *The card's demon claw resembles the mutated claw of the zombie villain Chameleon Model Six from the horror manga Reiko the Zombie Shop. However, Darkness Neosphere's claw is on the left hand rather than the right. *The left claw could be a reference to the myth of the left side of a person's body being considered evil as being left handed was frowned upon during medieval times.
* This card name make a reference to it's archetype: [[Darkness]][[Neos]][[Sphere]].
