When responding to a player action by activating an effect, it is said that the effect is activated in response to the action. This starts a Chain and this Chain is said to be in response to the action. Activating an effect in response to an action need not be on the first Chain Link (directly activated after the action). An effect can still be activated in response to the action as long as it is activated in the aforementioned Chain.
:Example 1: Player A summons a monster with 1500 or more ATK. The Player A use uses his/her Priority as the Turn Player and activates "Mystical Space Typhoon". Player B can then activate "Bottomless Trap Hole". The Chain will be formed as follows:
:Chain Link 1: Player A activates "Mystical Space Typhoon". (This is activated in response to the summon of the monster)
