'''Pendulum Effects''' (ペンデュラム{{ruby|効|こう}}{{ruby|果|か}} (formatted as {{Ruby|Ｐ|ペンデュラム}}{{ruby|効|こう}}{{ruby|果|か}} exclusively in [[card text]]) ''Pendyuramu Kōka'') are a new feature unique to [[Pendulum Monster]]s. This kind of [[Card effect|effect]] is written in small typesetting in a partially transparent box, which is right above the monster's lore box and between the [[Pendulum Scale]]s. These effects are applied while the Pendulum Monster is active on the field in a [[Pendulum Zone]] as a [[Spell Card]]. (As opposed to its monster effects which are only used while the card is played as a monster in the [[Monster Card Zone]].) Having Pendulum Effects is not essential for Pendulum Monsters, for some of them do not have any, thus the box is left empty. Note that even [[Normal Monster|Normal]] Pendulum Monsters with no Monster Effects at all may have Pendulum Effects.
