Released alongside ''[[Starter Deck: Kaiba]]'', they are the first and second deck in the ''TCG''{{'}}s Starter Deck series. It is also released in the ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game]]'' (''OCG'') in [[Asian-English]] and Korean.
The set has been released in the ''Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game'' (''TCG'') in three different English prints—North American, European and Oceanic—as well as in European French, French-Canadian, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. The European English, European French, German and Italian sets contain less cards than the other prints, each having but including 46 instead of 50 cards. (missing: Beaver Warrior, Mammoth Graveyard, Neo the Magic Swordsman, Man-Eating Treasure Chest.)
"[[Summoned Skull]]" from this set was previously distributed privately as a [[Summoned Skull Sample promotional card|sample card]], as well as given away in the ''Kids' WB!'' "[[Duelin' Monsters Giveaway]]" in November 2001. In both cases, the card was printed using glossy paper like used for ''OCG'' cards, and their [[card text]] was line-wrapped in a different position; in addition, the sample card had the word "SAMPLE" printed on its [[card backing]], while the giveaway promo lacked the [[Eye of Anubis Hologram]] in its lower right corner.
