* This card is based off of [[wikipedia:Abe no Seimei|Abe no Seimei]], a real-world specialist of onmyōdō during the Heian Period in Japan. In fact, this card's name "Meisei" is an anagram of "Seimei".
* This monster has two special cards that are designed to be used with him - the "[[Talisman of Spell Sealing]]" and the "[[Talisman of Trap Sealing]]", and he also appears on their artworks. The two cards allow you to disable your opponent from using [[Spell Card|Spell]] or [[Trap Card|Trap Cards]], but only one at a time (due to their conflicting effects).
* The rhyming phrase "His history is a mystery" in this card's description may be a joke.
