Or it could be that EI7(can't for the life of me spell its name) and Crimson Dragon wanted both the Godwin's so they became both Signers and Dark Signers (Rudger with the Head and Uru, Rex with the Body and EI7) and while Rudger gave in to Uru, the CD won Rex for about 17 years then some stuff went/is about to go down and EI7 won both Godwins

I'm afraid I can't agree with this article part: "A seemingly cold and calculating man willing to sacrifice innocent lives in order to preserve his utopia, Godwin serves as the main antagonist"

He is a little bit weird, but why would he be the main antagonist when he is in fact a person who wants to stop the ressurection of the crimson dragon?

He's just a mixed character, both good and bad.

It would be too stupid to introduce the main antagonist in the very first episodes.

It's obvious he will try to help in the fight against evil, just like Chronos (Crowler) changed in GX.

You could describe the characters in every Y-G-O! saga like this:

The main character finds out his true "destiny", falls in love with a girl, has supporting friends, many enemies (The first one is the everlasting enemy like Jack, the second one is a wannabe enemy like Ushio, the third one is an enemy that appears in only one season, or returns later on, and the forth one is a pseudoenemy like Godwin, he turns good later)

To compare in GX: 1. enemy - Manyjome 2. enemy - Kaiser 3. enemy - Kagemaru, Saiyou etc. 4. enemy - Chronos

  • Those you have listed serve more as rivals. Rex Godwin is the main antagonist so far because he antagonizes Yusei Fudo, the Protagonist. Godwin is probably a lot like Pegeses in a sense. But these are the classifications so far, there could indeed be a different antagonist who we have not seen yet. Dmaster (Contribs Count) 14:58, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
  • The perspectives of what constitutes a Pro- or Antagonist change as a series go on. When we see more info, the pages will be updated.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 15:18, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
  • You forgot the 5th type, the constent or "ultimate", one who shows up sometimes in seasons but then disappears untill the next one untill the protaganist has to fight him in the final season. Yami Bakura and Nightshroud fill this catigory, but who will it be in 5Ds...? --Azure Knight-Zeo
    • Likely Divine. He's the pulling-the-strings type that's been more of a backseat antagonist, just like Nightshroud and Bakura. 70.138.163.94 02:40, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
  • He is now listed as "other", which I agree with, but why is some people such as ZigZix (who is morecomical than anything else, listed as antagonists?--Qim1 23:17, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Fifth Signer

With tonights episode it seems strange I mean Goodwin being the owner of the Head who did lose it's arm. Mean he said on an accident maybe reffering something to do with the village he destroy trying to resurrect maybe all by himself. Thus it would look that losing its arm too look some kind of punishment for doing that but who knows. Wonder what would happen to the Birthmark if the arm is destroy, will it maybe be pass on to somemone else or what?

He mentions (in episode 30) that the 5th signer will appear eventually. However, it isn't really proof that he is or is not the 5th signer.DinoQueen13 13:33, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

thats fucking wrong just cause she died dosent mean you should remove Maddie blaeusteins name from godwins page we can simply add the new voice actor when he/she first starts. — This unsigned comment was made by BlackBommer21 (talkcontribs) 06:18, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

I think Goodwin is the Fifth Signer because if he's got Jack in his possession and he only invited 3 out of 4 unknown Signers. But there's also a possibility because we still haven't seen his deck or Rudger has it, or hasn't even been created yet. I don't know. — This unsigned comment was made by 96.229.237.210 (talkcontribs) 14:37, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Despite I myself supporting the theory of Goodwin being the Fifth Signer, I find something that denies such fact. The fact that all of the current signers DUEL. Even the other candidates for the 5th signer, Crow and Leo, while unlikely for me, do duel. While, so far, Goodwin has shown no real interest on dueling in any ways, let alone owning a deck or a single card. Altought it wouldn't be surprising to see him being a duelist in time, just like how it happened with Lazar.

  • Well he must just have seen no reason to duel yet since Rudger has yet to challenge anyone but Yusei. That and the creators could still be trying out new archetypes to assign to Rex for release in the next (post ANPR) pack.

1. Rudger is officially the 5th Signer, 2. 4Kids sucks. End. Danny Lilithborne 17:29, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Rudger was the 5th signer, but he makes it clear he is no longer. Additionally, he doesn't possess the head birthmark (obviously) and he doesn't use the Fifth Dragon in his deck. Besides, the end of the episode "strongly hinted" that Rex was going to become the 5th Signer or something similar, unless staring at the arm for a minute makes it unleash some sort of hidden power or something.

Voice Actor

It was listed on Wikipedia was pete zarustica or as he is also known, Oliver Wyman- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Zarustica. We should definitely keep maddie though.--Qim1 23:17, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Signer or Dark Signer?

It has beed revealed that Yusei, Jack and Crow will duel Rex. And, in the English Opening, it has been revealed that Rex is the fifth Signer. but, it the battle between yusei, crow and jack vs rex, it is said that rex has an earthbound immortal, but Dark Signers are the only ones with Earthbound Gods, so, is rex really a Signer or a Dark signer, Rudger gave Rex his Signer arm, Rudger became a dark signer, so, who holds the dragon head birthmark?

Well preview info says that he posseses the powers from both. Mean having the arm with the birthmark somehow may found the to access its powers like in the Fortune Cup. As for Dark Signer he has the Condor dark mark so definitely one more of them. DracoX 06:25, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I've no idea on who's side rex is anymore but if he is indeed the final dark signer he played everybody for fools.

He sure did, however since the beginning of the series it was hinted that he was an antagonist and had ulterior motives for doing stuff. Now that he the final Dark Signer just supports those facts. DracoX 18:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

King or Servant?

It is revealed that Rex has both the powers of a Signer and a Dark Signer. An upcoming episode shows that the King of the Underworld will appear. Is Rex the said King, or is he a servant to this godly being? AmuletCross

No, just another servant, The King itself is another entity that will soon see. DracoX 19:34, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
