  • This card's artwork was done by Joe Ng and was colored by Chilean artist Gonzalo Ordóñez Arias, AKA Genzoman, making this one of the first and only cards whose artwork wasn't created by a Japanese artist alongside "Ancient Dragon" and "Noble Knight Gawayn" whose art and coloring were also done by Genzoman.
  • This is the very first Normal Monster in the game that has its flavor text written in poetic form, as opposed to a simple description of the monster.
    • It is also the first Normal Monster to have its text not go to the end of the lines, but rather to leave space at the end of the lines (left unjustified).
  • Artorigus is clearly based on King Arthur due to him pulling the mythical sword from the stone, which depending on sources is sometimes considered to be the legendary sword that chooses kings, Excalibur or Caliburn.
    • As well, Artorigus is Old English for Arthur.
  • Although "Noble Arms - Caliburn" is the equivalent of "Excalibur", it is not the same sword featured in this card's artwork. (It actually is. Look at the Hilt)
  • This card has the highest combined ATK and DEF of any Level 4 or lower Normal Monster.
