- A dragon with a useful effect that was special summoned by "Hieratic Dragon King of Atum" is an excellent target for this card. Prime examples of such a monster would be "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" and "Prime Material Dragon".
- Use this card to protect a dragon with an effect that can protect some of your other cards such as "Golem Dragon", "King Dragun", "Queen Dragun", and "Jewel Flare Dragon Stardust".
- Dragons that inflict effect damage such as "Exploder Dragonwing" will be worthwhile targets in spite of this card's drawback.
- Protect one of your dragons with a powerful effect such as "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8", "Jeweled Red Dragon Archfiend" or any "Armed Dragon".
- "Protect Dragon" and "White Dragon Ninja" will protect this card. It does not matter whether or not this card is equipped to one of these monsters as long as either one of them is on the field. However targeting one of these monsters will create a destruction lockdown between the dragon and this card.
- This card can be used to prevent losses from your own monsters' destruction effects, such as those of "Black Rose Dragon" and "Jeweled Red Dragon Archfiend".
- Equip this card to an opponent's Dragon-Type monster if you can't afford or don't want to take any Battle Damage or want to trigger the effects of your monsters by attacking the equipped Dragon-Type monster.
