- The "blade" portion of this card's name could possibly reference the fact that, before "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" was revealed, every time Kite would summon a "Galaxy-Eyes" monster, it would manifest as a bladed weapon (e.g. "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" manifested as a shuriken, "Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" manifested as a spear, and "Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon" manifested as a sword) before assuming their true form, whereas "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" immediately assumed its true form while manifesting within the Overlay Network.
- Given this card's more aggressive-looking appearance and effect (when compared to "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon"), it is entirely possible that this card was designed as a "what if..." evolution to "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon".
