Stall cards are cards that are used to prevent your opponent from attacking you.
Common Stall cards include:
- Monsters - "Spirit Reaper", "Big Shield Gardna", "Destiny Hero - Defender", "Marshmallon" and "Shiba-Warrior Taro"
- Spells - "Level Limit - Area B", "Scapegoat", "Swords of Revealing Light" and "Nightmare's Steelcage".
- Traps - "Gravity Bind", "Wall of Revealing Light", the "DNA Surgery" / "Insect Barrier" combo, and the "Macro Cosmos" / "Gravekeeper's Servant" combo
Decks usually include stall cards as part of a larger strategy, such as a Burn deck or an Exodia deck. They are also used to buy time for a player if their opponent gains an advantage over them.
Two special victory condition cards benefit greatly from stall tactics in addition to Exodia--Destiny Board and Final Countdown.
