"Curse of Fiend":

The ceremonial rods in this card's artwork (or very similar ones) also appear in the artworks of "Black Magic Ritual", "Fusion Recycling Plant", and "Twister", as well as in the Japanese anime artwork of "Dark Dragon Ritual".

This is the only Normal Spell Card that can be activated during the Standby Phase.

In the Konami video games, this card can only be activated during its controller's Standby Phase if it was already Set on the field; it cannot be activated from the hand. However, this restriction has never been stated in the text of any of this card's prints or in any official OCG/TCG ruling.
