- The name Ectoplasmer probably comes from the word "Ectoplasm" which generally refers to the outer part of a cell's cytoplasm. It can also refer to the physical substance that supposedly manifests as a result of "spiritual energy" or "psychic phenomenon".
- "Ectoplasmer" appears in the artwork of "Fire Cyclone".
