  • This monster, as well as "Number 31: Abel's Devil", are based on the Biblical story of Cain and Abel, the first and second sons of Adam and Eve. According to Genesis 4:1-8, Cain committed the first murder by killing Abel.
    • The opposite position of the Numbers further allude to this.
    • Furthermore, this card's reference to Cain gains additional meaning in the context of this card's debut in the manga. This monster appeared out of Kaito's deck after he reduced Shark's Life points to below half- in short, Kaito "played the role of Cain" by acting as the aggressor in his battle against Shark.
  • This card's number may be a reference to its numerous adverse and mandatory effects. The number 13 is considered unlucky in numerous Western cultures.
  • This Number is one of the first Numbers to be unnamed at the time of its introduction to have its name revealed.
